So far, 65 feels pretty good. The Physical Therapy sessions have diminished my sciatic nerve pain. The Stock Market is reaching new highs. And it’s been a good Summer Movie season.
Tonight, my sisters and my brother are joining us for some pizza and wings and Birthday Cake. Plus, an apple pie for the non-cake eaters. Life is Good.
Happy birthday Dr. Kelley!
Lauren, thanks for your good wishes!
Happy birthday to you. My 65th comes in October.
Randy, I’ll be wishing you a Happy Birthday in October!
Damn! How’d a guy like you get to be so old?
Dan, clean living and being happy is the key to a long life!
A very Happy Birthday to you, George!
Prashant, thanks! I hope to have many more Birthdays!
Many happy returns of the day! Have a great time with your family.
Deb, We’ve invited all the family that’s here for pizza and wings tonight. And, of course, Birthday Cake!
Yes it is, George. Happy Birthday and welcome to the club. (I’ve been in it since November.) It can’t help but feel weird when you get that Medicare card.
You can never go wrong with pizza and birthday cake. Hope you get lots of goodies.
Jeff, you’re right about that Medicare card. No need for presents, I just want love and affection!
Have a great day, George. Go see EDGE OF NIGHT. I really liked it.
Patti, I saw EDGE OF TOMORROW the day it opened. Loved it! I also loved Megan’s review of Stephen King’s MR. MERCEDES in yesterday’s NYTBR.
Whoops wrong title and just remembered you already saw it.
Happy birthday, you young whippersnapper, and many happy returns!
Bill, thanks for the Happy Birthday wishes!
Patti, that title is really hurting the movie.
Have a great day, George. I take solace in the fact that I’ll always be a bit older (and therefore wiser and more mature?) than you.
Will you be jumping out of the cake, or will someone else?
Jerry, no cake jumping this year. But I have ordered an apple pie for the non-cake eaters.
Congratulations, kid! And not for the first time, but especially at 65, let me remind you of the “R Word”. I highly recommend it. The young minds of western New York will muddle along somehow without your sage tutelage. Meanwhile you’ve got lots to keep you busy (besides the basement), and us entertained.
Art, the “R” word is constantly hovering around me. I’m on the cusp.
Happy birthday, George! Sixty-five is a good age, enjoy. As for Art’s comment, I have a hunch you’re one of those work as long as you can types.
Rick, I’m in the twilight of my teaching career. I don’t want to overstay my welcome. I’ll be packing it in soon. I’m not one of those “leaving feet first” guys.
Art, Jackie has also been trying to convince George to retired for years. Maybe one of these days.
Happy Birthday, George!
I wish I was 65!
Beth
Beth, you’ll get to 65 fast enough!
Medicare!!!!! You must have been bombarded with phone calls and mail about all the different advantage plans. I sure was.
Happy 65th, callow youth. But what kind of sick, twisted individual doesn’t like cake? I can see it if they don’t like sweets at all, but they like pie. Who likes pie and not cake? It’s unAmerican.
Stan, every day we get some mail about Medicare supplement plans. My current insurance is way better which is one reason why I’m still working.
Bob, you would be surprised by the number of people who prefer apple pie (very American) to chocolate cake. I plan to eat both!
Amen to that. I love pie too, but not to the eclusion of chocolate cake. I don’t care for cherry pie, which is Jackie’s favorite, but like most other kids – apple, blueberry, peach, coconut custard, etc.
Jeff, my favorite pie is pecan. Yum!
Well, the pie-fighters…let ’em eat cake, of course. Belated (and sorry for the lateness of) further congratulations! I’m facing one of the Notable Number anniversaries this year myself, and perhaps it helps that we have so many codger pals…and if anyone is showing an EDGE OF NIGHT retrospective on big screens, you could do worse, than with any of the films and a surprising amount of the soap…as I mostly faintly remember it, these days…
Todd, thanks! Notable Numbers seem to follow many of us.
