Happy Birthday, young man!
Hope you’re having a nice birthday party with your family – and a lot presents.
It’s probably not easy to find something you really like – and don’t have yet …
Wolf, I just received a Birthday Box from Beth Fedyn with a book, a bag of excellent coffee, and a deluxe chocolate bar! It doesn’t get much better than that!
Michael, thank you for the Birthday wishes! I’m sure the books and CDs will be part of my Birthday celebration. Diane bought an Ultimate Chocolate cake for the candles.
Jeff, thanks! Diane will catch up with me next month. I have some plans for her Birthday that need to be finalized. Diane’s sister may come up from Ohio to visit around the time of Diane’s Birthday.
Beth, thanks again for the wonderful book, delicious coffee, and yummy chocolate bar! Great Birthday gifts! You are great friend! Can’t wait to take you out to dinner in Minneapolis!
Patti, Diane decided to buy me an Ultimate Chocolate Cake from a local bakery for my Birthday. It’s fabulous! But, Diane did bake Zucchini Bread the other day! Very yummy!
Jeff and Ann, thanks for the Birthday wishes! So far, my Birthday has been a happy one with plenty of cards and presents. However, I just got off the phone with a CAPITAL ONE Fraud Specialist. Someone at our local Sam’s Club just tried to buy FIVE iPhone 13s with my credit card. Fortunately, CAPITAL ONE flagged the transition as “suspicious” and froze my account. Now, I’m getting a new credit card expressed mailed to me. It’s always something…
One does wonder if they randomly generate numbers sometimes, the thieves, though probably they do still get them the old-fashioned way, through some sort of theft of documents, electronic documents these days.
Todd, the only thing I bought at Sam’s Club recently was gas (at $4.20 a gallon so it was a couple weeks ago–we’re $4.99 now). I’m guessing the hackers somehow got the Credit card numbers from the electronic gas pump.

This has happened to us more than once. At least they caught it, but then you have to go through the hassle of changing numbers. That chocolate cake sounds fabulous.
Jeff, a couple years ago, CAPITAL ONE called me and asked if I had order a dozen SONY X-boxes! This time it was five iPhones! Clearly these hackers like tech devices!
Happiest of natal anniversaries, George (and easy on the cake and other sweets)!
Good health, good companions, good times (including literary) for years to come!
(Do you still blow out candles on cakes? No one has presented me with a cake aflame in decades, but I was impressed by a much-mocked behavior by one or another otherwise questionable famous-enough person, who would take each candle off the cake and blow them out individually, so as to not spritz the cake with his saliva…I think I shall emulate if opportunity arises.)
Todd, Diane likes to put candles in the form of numbers on Birthday Cakes. You may see a photo of me and my Ultimate Chocolate Birthday Cake later tonight. But, we don’t light the candles. I “blow the candles out” in my imagination.
Byron, the dinner at Russell’s Steak House was excellent! I had a New York Strip Steak and Diane had Filet Mignon. Delicious! I don’t eat a lot of meat any more so when I do, I want it to be exceptional. Russell’s Steak House delivers the best steak dinners in Western NY!
Bob, thanks for the Birthday wishes! Filling my Nissan Rogue tank with gas costs over $60 now. I don’t like to carry that much cash around so I use the credit card.
Jeff, tell Jackie I’m willing to share the Ultimate Chocolate Cake with Diane. There’s a larger size, but I counseled Diane to buy the smaller size. I have blood work in a couple of weeks and I don’t want my A1C to go through the roof! At the swanky restaurant, I had a slice of Belgian Chocolate Cake and Diane had the Peanut Butter Gelato! We had a cozy booth: check out the photo the waiter took of us!
Jeff, Diane just had blood work a couple weeks ago and the numbers were good. I’m hoping to match that! I’m also curious about what–if anything–the Celebrex I’m taking is doing to my various blood work numbers.
Steve
Iām either a day late or 364 days early but Happy Cake Day!
Sorry to have come to the party late, George and to have missed that mouth-watering cake. Wishing you joy and happiness in all the years to come.šš
Happy Birthday, George! Best wishes for a wonderful day!
Deb, thanks for your kind Birthday wishes! Diane is taking me to a swanky restaurant for dinner. I’m in the mood for a steak!
Felicitations, you young whippersnapper!
Jerry, I know they say Age is just a number…but the number keeps getting bigger!
Happy Birthday, young man!

Best Wishes to the Birthday Boy. I’m still six or so months ahead of you. Have a great time.
Jeff, thanks! Diane will catch up with me next month. I have some plans for her Birthday that need to be finalized. Diane’s sister may come up from Ohio to visit around the time of Diane’s Birthday.

Happy Birthday, George! May you blog forever.
Steve, it’s commentators like you that keep me blogging! Thanks for the Birthday wishes!

You did this last year, too.
Is this gonna be a habit with you?
Dan, I’m going to try to hang in there for as long as I can!
Best wishes on your birthday (and I hope many, many more to come). I’m glad you get to have your cake and eat it too. Have a great dinner.

What’s in your wallet?! Happy birthday, whippersnapper! I never buy gas with a card! They charge extra for it!
Bob, thanks for the Birthday wishes! Filling my Nissan Rogue tank with gas costs over $60 now. I don’t like to carry that much cash around so I use the credit card.
Jackie wants to know if you get to eat the entire cake yourself.
Jeff, tell Jackie I’m willing to share the Ultimate Chocolate Cake with Diane. There’s a larger size, but I counseled Diane to buy the smaller size. Very classy. I like the tie.
We had our blood work last month and came through OK. I’m sure you will too.

Steve, you’re right on time! Love Happy Cake Day!
Belated Happy Birthday. Sounds like a good one! And many many more
Maggie, I can’t wait to see you in Minneapolis, too! Save some room on your busy dance card for a dinner!
Sorry to have come to the party late, George and to have missed that mouth-watering cake. Wishing you joy and happiness in all the years to come.šš
Neeru, you’re a very honored guest…and you’re just fashionably late!
