Happy Birthday, George. You’re still 9 months behind Jackie and 7 behind me. Nice looking feast! You can never go wrong with pizza, carrot cake and apple pie.
Byron, it’s 62 degrees in Western NY and I’m a big fan of cool weather! It makes my Birthday comfortable and pleasant! My sister in Tucson, Arizona called to wish me a Happy Birthday and told me it’s 103 degrees there. I told her, “You live in Hell!”
Jeff, and this is only June! What are Arizona and all the Southern States going to be like in July and August!
Fred Blosser
Many happy returns! My 74th arrives in August. So far so good. My Dad died at 67 (or 64–there are two different dates of birth in the records) from colon cancer–today, with early screening, he’d have lived longer. Mom made it to 94.
Fred, thanks for the Happy Birthday wishes! I read in the WALL STREET JOURNAL that new tests are in clinical trials that will identify over 100 cancers…with just a blood test! That would be a huge Breakthrough!
Patti, age is just a number! Sadly, most of the carrot cake is gone. Diane is saving a piece of Apple Pie for tomorrow. I hope both of us have many more Birthdays to come!
Happy Birthday, George. The desserts look wonderful and you look happy, and that is what counts. I did not realize that we are so close in age. I am 7 months older than you (like Jeff) but you look younger.
Happy Birthday George from Europe too to you young man!
But not even one glass of champagne or at least some nice red wine to go with your lovely food?
I just hope to be able to continue reading your fantastic blog for a few more years …
Scott, you might want to check my upcoming blog post for Monday. It’s a review of Andrew Cartmel’s ASHRAM ASSASSIN mystery featuring The Paperback Sleuth! Hope your move is successful!
Happy Bithday George. Cake, Ice Cream, Pizza, but no punge?
Steve, punge is hard to come by outside of Matthew Hughes’s world!
Happy Birthday?
You did this just last year.
Is this going to become a habit with you?
Dan, if nothing else, I’m a man of Habit. I want to keep rolling and blogging as long as I can!
And you don’t look a day over 74!
Have a wonderful birthday, George!
Deb, thank you for your kind Birthday wishes! Diane and I will be Portaling with Patrick and Katie later today.
Feliz cumple, George! As I’m coming up on 60, it seems odd to see those years pile up, but may the net enjoyment and continuing love be indefinite.
Todd, as a lot of my elderly friends are fond of saying, “If I knew I was going to last this long, I would have taken better care of myself!”
Indeed. Happy birthday to the ever-young Sage of Tonawanda. May you have many, many more.
Jerry, thanks for your longevity wish! I’ve always considered Life to be a Marathon, not a sprint!
Happy Birthday, George. You’re still 9 months behind Jackie and 7 behind me. Nice looking feast! You can never go wrong with pizza, carrot cake and apple pie.
Jeff, Diane knows pizza, carrot cake, and apple pie are three of my favorites! I loved them and our guests loved them, too!
Happy birthday with many, many more to come I’m sure. Have a great day.

True. My sister in Scottsdale was at 110!

Happiest of birfdays to you, whippersnapper! If you want to see 76 you’d best go easy on the pie and cake!
Bob, carrot cake is very healthy and so is Apple Pie. That’s what Julia Child said…
Julia wasn’t exactly a walking advertisement for sveltness!
Bob, but Julia lived to 91!
Sorry I am late to the party. Hope you saved me some cake. Happy Birthday, George. And many more to come. 76 for me.
Patti, age is just a number! Sadly, most of the carrot cake is gone. Diane is saving a piece of Apple Pie for tomorrow. I hope both of us have many more Birthdays to come!

Tracy, thank for your kind words! I felt 10 years younger the day I retired!
Happy Birthday George from Europe too to you young man!

Wolf, champagne and wine just make me sleepy. We served coffee, tea, Diet Pepsi, and root beer to our Birthday Party guests.
Happy Birthday George!
Susan, I had a great Birthday! Thanks for your kind wishes!
