Happy Father’s Day today all the fathers, fathers-in-law, step-fathers, and father figures out there. We took John to the casino buffet last night. Today there will be cards & gifts and (because one of those gifts is a Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Oven*) grilled steaks plus all the fixings. Yes, John will be grilling on his “special” day—but that’s the way he likes it.
Jerry, thank you for those accolades! It was a running joke in many of my classes that when I would talk about Patrick, Katie, and Diane, some student would raise their hand and ask, “Could you adopt me? My family sucks!”
Hope for a wonderful father’s day for all of you out there!
We’re having a kind of holiday with my wife’s granddaughter – does that count?
Fun fact:
In most of Europe (Germany eg) there’s no “official” father’s day – but an unofficial one on Ascension Day.
In Germany that Thursday is an official state holiday so many young men (most probably not yet fathers …) go out into nature in groups with a large load of beer and grilling stuff. 30 liter beer barrels are quite common there …
Cheers!
Jeff, you know us so well! Diane is having a cheese and spinach pizza and I’m having a “Nicolas” which features pepperoni, mozzarella, peppers, and broccoli.
The resemblances are strong! Happy FD to you (and your family), George.
Todd, thank you for your kind words. Yes, the Force is strong in the Kelley Family!

*As John and I move into empty-nester status, a smaller grill that is appropriate for two people (but can handle food for more) seemed to be a good choice:

Deb, John and grill are welcome at my place anytime.
Jerry, John is the Grill Master of Louisiana! And Deb is the Queen of the Kitchen!
Deb, wonderful Father’s Day wishes to John! We have a Ninja blender. It’s the best blender we’ve ever owned!
You are a great father, a great husband, and you have some great kids! You are the complete package and have much to celebrate, George!
(However I could not help but notice the third, unmentioned, child lurking in the backgroud.. Hmm.)

Wolf, of course that counts! Thank you for your kind wishes on Father’s Day!
Happy Fathers Day to George and John and Jerry and every other father out there.
Nice picture. Looks like someone could use a haircut and it isn’t George.
Enjoy the day.
Jeff, Patrick’s hair is even longer! I’m a short hair guy. I sometimes consider shaving my head…but Diane says “No.”
Jackie thinks Patrick’s hair looks neater in this picture.
Any pizza in the forecast for Fathers Day?

Looks like you had a great Father’s Day, George. With your lovely family.
Tracy, family and pizza…the essence of Father’s Day!
