My goodness. I don’t remember Jamie Lee Curtis looking like that in the movie.

Have a great day, George, but celebrate responsibly. (That means no smashing pumpkins, t.p.ing the neighbor’s house, knocking over privies, leaving flaming bags of dog poop on someone’s doorstep, or stealing candy from the littler kids. I expect Diane to fo the same.)

Jerry, that’s Taylor Swift…probably the most popular Halloween costume (along with her other Era costumes) this year. Diane has plenty of candy for the Trick-or-Treaters tonight. The weather here in Western NY is cool: 30s. A slight chance of rain tonight, too.

Predicted to be chilly here but no rain. Our grandson (14) has aged out of trick or treat, older granddaughter (10) may or may not go out, our younger (14 months) will probably help give out candy at her door.

Yeah, I’d say 10 or 11 is about the upper limit of trick or treat ages, or it should be. We had brunch out this morning and saw a couple of older teens (who should have been in school) with partial costumes. Around here, the parents take the kids around to all the stores (and some restaurants, like the Chinese takeouts) on the Avenue to get candy, then to the houses on the side streets after school. No one comes around in our apartment building any more, though they used to in the past. As usual, I will have to sacrifice and eat the candy we don’t give out (all of it!) myself.

I see you have a preview of Deb’s costume. Nice.

Jeff, since we live on a long, straight street, vans full of kids drop off Trick-or-Treaters and they move up and down the sidewalks in packs. But, the temps are cool–40 right now and it will fall into the 30s once the sun goes down. I don’t know how many kids are going to want to be out in this kind of weather. Rain is in the forecast, too!

George, I thought my costume was a secret—but I see I’ve been uncovered (in some fashion!). We’ve had a massive temperature drop here since yesterday when our high was in the 80s—tonight we’ll be in the 40s, possibly the high 30s. John will be manning the candy station at the end of our driveway with a couple of portable lanterns and our family’s Halloween playlist on the speaker. I plan to stay inside and watch the next game of the World Series.

I’m leaning Rangers, but have no real horse in the race—I just love baseball, and the World Series represents the last few baseball games before the long months-long haul to spring training.

I’m going to celebrate by going to physical therapy! My first session! If my legs don’t get better I may end up in a wheelchair and I can’t live that way! Now, that’s scary!

Bob, I can just see you in one of those motorized scooters bopping around! Physical Therapy helped me over the Summer with my back pain. Hope PT helps you, too!

Hope you all had a nice evening!
Here in Germany the stores were full with Halloween stuff – sweets and cheap plastic toys from China. Today all stores are closed (All Saints is a holiday, at least in the mainly Catholic South), tomorrow you might get the leftovers cheap – the stores need the space for Xmas things.
This commercialisation is kind of horrible imho.
And teenagers yesterday evening in many cities were vandalizing garbage cabs (putting them on fire …) etc so in Hamburg the police used water cannons to quiet them down.
    Life is crazy!

Wolf, some people love destruction. We had an incident where members of a City Road crew were fixing a street and a car went by–stopped–and someone in the car shot the workers. Later, the car was recovered by the Police, but it was the stolen car with few clues to the shooter. Senseless violence.
