Jeff, thank you for your kind wishes! Diane and I have ordered from the Mothers’ Day menu at The Hideaway Grille. At 4 P.M. we’ll drive over and pick up salads, a rack of ribs, Filet Mignon, sides of creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and pork & beans. Dessert will be Diane’s favorite: the 17-layer Chocolate Cake!
Jeff, Diane and I have eaten at The Hideaway Grille around a 100 times. Never had a bad meal or bad service. That’s one definition of a Good Restaurant.
Barbara and her daughters use Duo to do visual communications. It’s the one their schools use. The San Diego daughter has called this am, and a text from Colorado.
Mid 80s here today, then 60s tomorrow with showers. Looks like our NFH will have a pool party for the 5th day in a row. We had to text them at Midnight last night asking to turn the music down.
Rick, we’re looking at freezing temperatures tonight. And a possibility of snowflakes tomorrow.

Happy Mothers Day to all moms, and to those of us who have lost theirs, remember the great memories.
That menu sounds amazing. Wish there was a place like that here. I’m still trying new places.
I did see an article on facebook about Commanders Palace in NOLA delivering all over the country. I didn’t check it out, though it might be from the Onion.
Maggie, most of the swanky restaurants around here are NOT doing Take-Out. But, plenty of mom-and-pop restaurants are. We’re trying to support local restaurants so they don’t go under.
Thank you! Here’s a little ditty I made up to celebrate my fellow mother friends:
🎶 It’s Mother’s Day, and you’re the Queen.
Even if you’re spending it in quarantine.
But don’t you frown and don’t be mad.
Don’t be sorry and don’t be sad.
Let this thought your spirit lift:
Being a mother is God’s gift.
Once a child has come your way,
Every day is Mother’s Day. 🎶
Happy Mother’s Day to Diane and all the mother’s who read this blog. Sounds like you have a nice day planned. Barbara will be lucky if either of her two daughters even sends a text. (SIGH). We were talking last night bout this, neither of us remembers Mother’s Day being a big deal when we were kids. A card, that’s it. Now it’s all over the news and everywhere you turn. I wonder why.
Happy Mother’s Day to all those mothers!
Even we men know it’s not an easy job, especially in these times.
Funnily enough Mother’s Day is the first Sunday in May, so it’s gone …
My wife’s son and his family (wife and daughter) came to visit us,brought some chocolate and we had lunch in the garden. This May is unusually warm, today also 25 Celsius 77 Fahrenheit.
Even though it’s a
regular day here we did some shopping this morning (from 9 to 12 am only seniors are allowed …) at the Aldi and found some green asparagus which we had for lunch.
Wishing you all the very best!
Sorry, wordpress again took away part of my last comment. What I meant to write was:
Here in Hungary Mother’s Day was last Sunday – in Germany btw it’s today, so we can have it twice …
And a very happy Mother’s Day to Dianne!
Jerry, hope your Mothers’ Day is happy and bright. We may get some snowflakes today!
Happy Mother’s Day to Diane and Deb and all the rest of the mothers out there.

Good for you. I hope there’s enough to eat. (Just kidding!)
We’re probably going to go with pizza today.

Happy Mother’s Day to Diane!
Patti, Happy Mothers’ Day to you! Patrick and Katie sent Diane a wonderful flower arrangement. We plan to Facebook PORTAL later this afternoon.

Happy Mother’s Day! Love, Deb
I was trying to fit in a rhyme with “warm” and “termites swarm” but I couldn’t make it work! 😂
Deb, very inspiring! What’s on the Mothers’ Day menu?
My choice: steak, baked potatoes, and grilled Brussels sprouts.
Deb, sounds yummy! What’s for dessert?

Rick, part of Mothers’ Day is social, part business. Millions of dollars of flowers and chocolate will be gifted today.
Happy Mother’s Day to all those mothers!

Wolf, mothers deserve to be celebrated every day!
I hope all you mothers out there have a good day!
Only one thing puzzles me, if you can order anything you want, why would you order creamed spinach or Brussels sprouts?! To each his own, I reckon!
Bob, I’m a big fan of creamed spinach. Of course, Art Scott rejects most vegetables.
