Thanks, Jeff! We’re going to go over to Northgate this afternoon with cake and ice cream for my Mom. Diane’s Mom has requested chicken and dumplings for dinner. Yes, “wintery mix” is in our forecast. The temps went down into the 30s last night. Brrrrr!
Happy Mother’s Day to Diane and the Moms. Chicken and dumplings sounds good. As noted in my blog post I took Barbara out to breakfast. Here it’s finally down out of the 80s today and chance of rain tomorrow. It’s been unseasonably hot and we need cool, rainy days.
Rick, it’s 41 degrees here right now. And we even had some sleet with the rain that fell this afternoon. With the wind chill, it feels like 34 degrees.
Chicken and dumplings sounds right up there for me too.
Of course Jackie is not a mother or spending the day in the hospital might have been a downer. But she is doing so much better than she was a couple of days ago – walking on her own to the bathroom, getting most of the bandages off (the staples over the knee do not look bad at all!), doing some exercises with the physical therapist. A few more weeks and she should be better than she was before last Thursday.
Jeff, thanks for the Jackie update! A week or two of Rehab will have Jackie really moving around. The big difference Jackie’s enjoying is that she’s not in pain anymore. Yes, she might have some pain from the surgery, but that will go away bit by bit every day. The chronic knee pain is gone. And, the more Jackie does her physical therapy, the faster she will recover. Give her a hug from us!
Jackie should continue to improve in Rehab, Jeff. There’s a window to achieve range-of-motion goals. If Jackie can straighten her knee and bend her knee, she’ll be good to go! Remind her to do her ankle pumps 4 or 5 times a day to keep the blood flowing.
Happy Mothers Day to Diane and your mothers. Any big plans?
Looks like a few late season snowflakes up your way. Winter just doesn’t want to give up.

You can already see the difference from the first two days to the next two. It’s a huge improvement.
