Erin go braugh! I have quite a bit of Irish ancestry—three of my four great-grandfathers were born there (although two ended up in England and one in South America, all of them “navvies” of one sort or another). In honor of my Irish roots, I made corned beef and cabbage this weekend—we’re having the leftovers tonight.

Deb, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade here has been cancelled because of the Pandemic, but we’re all happy we made it this far–with our Moderna shots–and the good company of our friends and family!

Well, as my paternity changed, I lost a lot of German and picked up a lot of Irish. But it’s not a meal to make for one person so I won’t .

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to the Kelleys!

I love corned beef and cabbage – and in Bay Ridge that is always an available choice – but in the end we decided on meatballs and spaghetti instead.

I’m meeting my red-headed partner today for corned beef & potatoes, and we’ll watch either THE QUIET MAN or MILLER’S CROSSING.

Rick, may the good vibes of St. Patrick’s day assist you with your lab appointment! I’m not a beer drinker, either. But wine is on Diane’s menu tonight!

BTW, we’re also having corned beef, but with steamed asparagus instead of cabbage. I like cabbage, raw, as in coleslaw, but not cooked. Also, looks like we’ll get our 1st Covid shot tomorrow, at Walgreens. Yay.

I’ll be filling out the paperwork this afternoon. We have the 2nd shot appointment too, at the end of the month. Not sure but suspect it’ll be Pfizer.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everybody – whether with Irish roots or not!
Though I have to admit that I don’t really like Irish beer(dark beer in general) but Pilsner or export.
One liter glasses are common in Bavaria too.
    Cheers!

Wolf, there’s a large Irish community in Western New York so the Green Beer will be flowing in the bars tonight…until the 11 P. M. coronavirus curfew.

        You lucky guys!
Here in most countries bars are totally closed, or open until 9pm, shops until 7 or 8pm – total chaos.
In Germany I used to meet my friends several times a week – some of us had been going to that bar for50 years …
But now we have a glass of wine or two beers at home, watching tv, searching the internet.
Luckily we also have phone contacts with friends and family – from Hungary to Germany and England.

Wolf, some of the Covid-19 Variants seem to be running wild in Europe. Italy and France are shutting down again. And the EU didn’t order enough vaccine!
