Hey, the sun is out and it’s going to be in the low 50s, a good day to get outside. As for the Northeast/New England Bowl, who cares? I mean I hope Jeff is happy, but I don’t really care who loses. Now if the Niners had made it… or Chargers, or Seahawks or even Green Bay, I’d have been watching. Wife plans on watching just for the commercials. Me, I’ll be downstairs reading a book or outside doing some Winter pruning.
Barbara says she liked the polar bear adds, especially one where the bear tried to catch a Coke bottle, fumblin’ and stumblin’ across the ice. She also liked the Chevy ad where it was the Apocalypse for everyone but the Chevy truck drivers, and the Clint Eastwood ad. She also enjoyed Madonna.
I was bummed. The newspaper said the Patriots dropped a ton of balls, which is very unlike them, as was the early Safety. I guess it’s better to be lucky than good.
Since this was an all East coast NE game, maybe next year we can have an all Left Coast game. How about Chargers-Niners?
Maggie Mason would love to see her Chargers in the Super Bowl, Rick. I just like to see a close, competitive game. Yesterday’s Super Bowl fit the bill.
I half-watched while playing on the computer until the final five minutes. Then it got good. Two very catchable dropped passes on NE’s final drive did them in. I skipped the half time show and most of the commericals. I remember the poor dog running after Budweiser and the vampires camping, but that’s about it. Missed Clint, which I probably would have enjoyed.
Clint is YouTube, Bob. It was probably the best commercial of the bunch. Since all the commercials were available online before the Super Bowl, the suspense was gone.
Go Giants!
My heart says Giants, but my head says Patriots, Jeff and Drongo.
I’ve got no dog in this fight, but since a Giant’s win would obviously make Jeff Meyerson pretty happy, I’m rooting for New York.
Besides, with George posting that picture up above, we’re already all winners.
Amen, Drongo.
I have no great insight as to how the game will go but as a very long-time Giants fan (50 years!) I’m hoping for a positive outcome.

I’m reading, watching the game, and watching the commercials, Rick. I’m unimpressed with the half-time show.
I’m for the Giants, but like the Pats, too. Hark! The Pats just got a safety and the Giants lead 2-0.
The Giants had the ball almost all the First Half and are losing 10-9, Bob. Maybe the Fix is in.
I just put up my New Arrivals post: one book this week. Enjoy those activities, George.
You missed an entertaining Super Bowl, Rick. The Giants won 21-17.
YES!!!
Eli does it again. They blew any number of chances but kept it close enough to get there in the end.
Oh, and I did NOT watch the halftime show.
Favorite commercials were the polar bears for Coke and the dog exercising.
No one has to ask Eli if he’s an “elite” quarterback anymore, Jeff. I liked the Clint Eastwood commercial and the Audi vampire spot.
First half was kind of dull, second half a lot more interesting.
Guess Peyton is now going to be known as Eli’s less-accomplished brother.
Given the severity of Payton’s neck injury, I hope he retires, Drongo.
I’m not a Giants fan, but any NFL season that ends with the Patriots losing the Super Bowl isn’t a total waste.
The Giants were 7-7 on December 18, James. They got hot at just the right time and their momentum carried them to a Super Bowl win.

I had $20 bet on the Cowboys to wiin the Superbowl, and they never even showed up!
I WONDERED why I got such great odds!
Damn, and if they’d won, I would have had over a million dollars!
Do you suppose the guy who took my bet had some kind of inside information?
I think you should stay away from gamblers and casinos, Dan.
