By the time you read this post, Diane and I will be flying to JFK Airport. Once we land and pick up our luggage, we’ll be traveling by Lyft, Uber, or cab to Patrick’s apartment in Brooklyn where Patrick and Katie will have a Thanksgiving feast waiting for us. Our nieces Elise and Kristen will join the celebration as well as some “strays” who have nowhere to go on Thanksgiving. I’ll add some pictures of our Thanksgiving Feast to this post later today so check back and see what delights Patrick and Katie prepared.
The Buffalo Bills will be playing the Detroit Lions while we’re in the air to NYC. The Bills are favored by 9 points.
Hope you all enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Big plans today, or just a bunch of parties?
Wishing you, Diane, Patrick, Katie, and all who gather the merriest and most meaningful of Thankgivings. I am thankful that not even the mighty Kelley clan can consume all the turkey, potatoes, and stuffing in New York so there will be plenty left for the rest of the city.
Jerry, best Thanksgiving wishes to you and your family! We polished off a lot of food and drink today!
Dan, we flew to NYC with no problems. Weather is great: 50s and sunny. Took a cab to Parick’s apartment in Brooklyn. Patrick, Katie, our niece Elise, and friend Amber prepared a Thanksgiving feast of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, sweet potatoes, cranberry jello salad, green salad. Desserts: apple pie bar, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, almond pie, brownies, and chocolate truffles from a Polish bakery. Plenty of wine and mixed drinks, too! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, too!
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Our girls will all be here and we’ll be having our traditional dinner: turkey has been brined overnight and is about to go on the Big Green Egg. I made the creamed spinach and dressing yesterday, so all I have to make today is mashed potatoes and gravy. We were planning to do our usual day-after-Thanksgiving trip to the horse races, but the weather forecast for tomorrow isn’t looking too favorable.
Deb, sounds like a great Thanksgiving at your house! Dinner in Brooklyn was great, but the Buffalo Bills kept us all on the edge of our seats until the very end!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Here in Europe we are just preparing for Xmas which will be the high point for most people, Thanksgiving is essentially unknown.
Don’t eat too much!
Wolf, New York City is already in Christmas mode with plenty of Christmas decorations, Christmas music, and tons of TV commercials for Christmas shopping!
Happy Thanksgiving! I have a lot more hope for a Bills win today than I do for the poor injury-ridden Giants, playing in Dallas. Oh well.
See you on Monday!
Jeff, the Bills managed to pull off two wins in Detroit…but we’re all worried about Von Miller’s injury. The Giants will be a lot better after they add more Draft picks and make a few trades. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Jackie. Can’t wait for Brunch Monday!
Well, they don’t make it easy, but the Bills pulled it out in the end.
Jeff, we were rooting for both the Bills and the Giants to win…but that didn’t happen. But, New England lost a winnable game!
