HAPPY THANKSGIVING! & BUFFALO BILLS VS. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS [NBC]

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We’re in New York City to spend Thanksgiving and the weekend with Patrick (and see his new apartment), Katie (who took the train down from Boston), and our niece Elise (a National Labor Relations Board lawyer from Washington, D.C.). We have tickets for the Rockettes and Broadway shows Tina and Six. Next Monday we’ll be enjoying Brunch with Jeff and Jackie Meyerson! Hopefully, the Bills (inexplicably favorited over Deb’s Saints by 4 points) don’t embarrass themselves on National TV tonight.

What’s happening at your Thanksgiving?

I was going to wish you a great Thanksgiving, George, but it looks like you’ve got it covered. Best wishes to you and your family — and the Bills!

After three abysmal losses in a row, I can see why the unsteady Saints are underdogs today.

I got my covid booster on Tuesday. Yesterday I was a bit achy and had a sore arm, but that didn’t stop me from making all the side dishes (dressing, green bean casserole, creamed spinach) except mashed potatoes. I’ll make the potatoes this afternoon while the other sides are heating in the oven. John has had the turkey brining overnight in a salt-honey-spice mixture and will be putting it on the Big Green Egg in a while. Julia made the dessert this year (pumpkin tres leches cake). Then after dinner, we’ll watch Saints-Bills.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving—and your visit with Jeff & Jackie. We’re looking forward to seeing them here next weekend.

    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Deb, your side dishes sound delicious! Happy Thanksgiving to you and John and Julia and the rest of your family! We’re about to leave for the Buffalo Airport. The flight to New York City is about an hour. Then, it takes an hour and a half by cab to get to our hotel room in Times Square. Sean Payton is 3-0 on Thanksgiving while Bills Head Coach Sean McDermott is 1-0 on Turkey Day.

Happy Thanksgiving! Nice picture. We’re looking forward to seeing you all on Monday (and Deb & co. the following Saturday). That will be our first plane trip in a long, long time (and yes, depite reassurances, I am anxious about it). We had an early celebration yesterday on my birthday (lunch in the city, a preview of the new production of Stephen Sondheim’s COMPANY), and today will just be us at home with turkey, chestnut stuffing, roasted potatoes, cranberry jello mold and (sugar-free) chocolate pudding pie for a birthday/Thanksgiving treat for dessert. And topped off tonight by the Bills and the Saints. What could be better (other than the Cowboys losing this afternoon.)

    Have a safe trip, George.

No such inner tension, or intent? But what if the Santa is one of the models/cheerleaders you post from time to time? (I know, a gentleman asks them if they’d like to sit on one’s lap, rather than the reverse.)

Happy Thanksgiving! Whether in western or eastern NY I hope you have a great day. Here, we’re departing from tradition and having Italian, lasagna, garlic bread, green salad w/Caesar dressing. Barbara has pumpkin pie, I have apple. While they were cheap, we bought turkey breasts and froze them, so we can have the turkey dinner another day or at Christmas.

There’s much to be thankful for, including our blog friends and of course your blog. Most of all here, I’m thankful for Barbara. I may have married late in life, but I found a good one.

A last minute change led to my having an Indian day-long meal, munching analgesics, and continuing (Very slowly) to write my “SS Weds” post. Happy family and friends (and NYC shows) encounters!

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving – and didn’t eat too much!
here in Europe there’s no ral holiday mood, we’re all wondering how Xmas will look like Covid-wise.
Many people I know (on a USA forum) had planned to got to NYC or Florida or … after Xmas, but now?

Wolf, we had turkey, creamed spinach, green beans, scalloped potatoes, stuffing, and carrots for our Thanksgiving dinner, all prepared by Katie and Patrick and their friends. Desserts were pecan pie, apple pie, pumpkin pie and ice cream.
