The research regarding the power of green tea and red wine in disrupting the formation of cancer cells is persuasive. So now I’m drinking a glass of red wine and a bottle of green tea each day so I can live to be 300 and keep on blogging. I’ve tried various green teas and prefer Honest Tea’s Green Tea with Honey. It only contains 8 grams of carbs so it’s not going to spike anybody’s blood sugar. And it tastes refreshing. Honest Tea has several options for green tea: Community Green Tea with Maltese Orange, Just Green Tea Unsweetened, and Green Dragon Tea, for example. And there’s poetry under the bottle cap! Can’t beat that. If you want to check out the Honest Tea web site, click here.
Sounds like they’re copying Snapple with their ‘facts under the bottlecap’ gimmick. As long as it has zero calories you can’t go wrong! I’ll have to try one.
You may have to look around to find HONEST TEA, Jeff. Not every store carries it.
I just make tea myself every morning because I like it really plain–no sugar, no lemon. But I will give this a try.
HONEST TEA is all organic, Patti. They have a variety that’s just plain green tea with nothing in it. I like it on ice.
I’ll try it too, but I’ll have the unsweetened one, thanks. At present we make sun tea with half regular tea and half green tea (wife buys the green in loose form from an outfit called Teavana). We like our tea unsweetened with a slice of lemon, usually. Most commercial teas seem too sweet.
I prefer my tea unsweetened, too, Rick. But the tiny bit of honey in Honest Tea’s GREEN TEA WITH HONEY is acceptable. You’re lucky to find it at Costco. Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart don’t carry Honest Tea so I have to pay more for it at the local grocery store.
Ah, looks like the local Costco has it. I’ll be going tomorrow.
You can always find it at Whole Wallet, as my sister in law enjoys dubbing Whole Foods.
Whole Foods hasn’t set up shop in Western New York yet, Todd. But, I’ve heard their prices are on the high-end.
Thanks for mentioning that, Rick. We’re planning a trip to Costco tomorrow too so will check it out.
Whole Foods does have some nice stuff but they are definitely pricy. We’ve been in Florida and Manhattan stores.
The closest Costco to us is in Canada, Jeff. Too much hassle getting stuff over the border for that to be a viable option. We were supposed to get a Costco in 2009, but then the recession hit.
There is a Whole Foods nearby, but we had a problem with some rice we bought – full of bugs, so we don’t shop there any more. Definitely high end.
