HOW DO YOU DO By Mayer Hawthorne

If you’re a fan of soul music, you’ll enjoy Mayer Hawthorne’s new CD, How Do You Do. Put the Chi-Lites and Curtis Mayfield in a blender and the result will sound like Mayer’s songs. I enjoyed Mayer Hawthorne’s first CD, A Strange Arrangement, but this new CD is even better. If you need a fix of contemporary soul music (that sounds like it came from the Sixties) listen to Mayer Hawthorne. Check out the video below.

You’ll enjoy HOW DO YOU DO, Patti. Mayer Hawthorne is a Michigan boy. Sorry the Tigers got bounced and the Lions lost. The Bills also stumbled in NYC.

Never heard of him before, but then I’m not exactly au fait with the current music scene (to say the least!).

I would have preferred to see a Detroit-St. Louis rematch (of 1968 and 2006) or at least Detroit-Milwaukee. St. Louis-Texas is a total yawner as far as I’m concerned. I expect a high scoring series, especially by Texas.

    But I could be wrong.

I’m sure the TV execs would have preferred ANY combination of teams other than St. Louis and the Rangers, Jeff. The TV ratings for the baseball playoffs have been terrible.

I’m with Jeff on the World Series. Not much interest in either team, and I don’t care for Texas. They keep picking on the poor M’s.

As for the music, I liked it.

My students have zero interest in Major League Baseball, Bob. It’s a dying sport. Glad you liked Mayer Hawthorne. His CD is on heavy rotation on my car stereo.

Rare. I’m buying it NOW. Wow, I hope the whole album is as good as that cut!

SERIES: I would have liked to see St. Louis-Detroit too, but I’ll be rooting against the Rangers, so I say Go St Louis!

It’s a GREAT album, I’ve listened several times through.

I disagree about baseball, just because your students don’t care, there are many, many young baseball fans out there and it’s not about to die in our or our children’s lifetimes. Your students are just one demographic, after all.
