INDIANAPOLIS COLTS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

On January 9, 2021, the Indianapolis Colts came to Buffalo to win a Wildcard Playoff game…and they nearly did. The final score was 27-24 and Philip Rivers almost pulled the game out with a last second Hail Mary throw. Fortunately, the Bills secondary learned from the Hail Murray throw a few week prior to this game and defended the pass.

Today, the Colts come to town with their season hanging in the balance. One analytics website calculates that if the Colts beat the Bills today, the Colts have a 50% chance of making the Playoffs. However, if the Colts lose to the Bills today, their Playoff chances plummet to 14%. The Bills are 7-point favorites. But rain is in the forecast and that will help the running game of the Colts. How will your favorite NFL fare today?

The inconsistent 5-4 Saints journey to Philadelphia to take on the 4-6 Eagles. The Saints have lost each of their last two games by two points (failure to score points-after-touchdown, missed field goals—they really need injured kicker Lutz to return—and missed two-point conversions have all contributed to this sad state of affairs). This is a rebuilding season after Drew Brees’s retirement, but with starting QB Jamies Winston out for the season with a torn ACL, third-string QB Trevor Siemien showing why he never hit the big-time, and the aforementioned failures to make what should be gimme points, the Saints look like a rudderless ship and my hopes aren’t high for today’s game. Then, in just four days, your Bills come to the Crescent City to take on the Saints on Thanksgiving Day (well, evening) in the Super Dome, George. If nothing else, weather won’t be a factor then!

Deb, playing two games in five days presents problems for all NFL teams. The Saints will be home for the Thanksgiving Game which is a huge advantage. Hopefully, the Bills (and Saints) can escape today’s games without major injuries.

Baltimore goes to Chicago, where it will be cold and windy. Apparently a cold virus has struck the Ravens’ offense, potentially making them even more inconsistent than usual. It looks like the Ravens may activate their third-string quarterback to make sure they can always have someone under center. And the schedule gets really tough from here on out.

Jeff, the Bills schedule gets tougher too with the tenacious Colts today, the Saints on Thanksgiving, two games against the suddenly potent Patriots, and a game with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Right now, the Bills have two starters on the Covid-19 list which means the offensive and defensive lines need to be reshuffled. Hope the Ravens win today!

If the honchos of the NFL had any balls at all, they would have mandated vaccines for ALL players. Then we wouldn’t have players still missing games, not to mention the Aaron Rodgers fiasco.

Jeff, I agree. It’s maddening that disruptions caused by players going on the Covid-19 List could be prevented if players would just get vaccinated. We are required to wear masks and show our vaccination card before we can get into ESCAPE TO Margaritaville.

    They won’t lose,..I guarantee it 100%!

Of course, the Giants don’t play until tomorrow night in Tampa against Tom Brady and the Bucs. That, I would not feel confident about.

    Go, Bills!

Jeff, the “experts” on ESPN claim the Giants play the Buccaneers tough. They were advising the bettors to take the points and the Giants.

The Seahawks are one of the worst teams in the NFL, sitting at the bottom of their division. They have poor defense, so-so running game, lousy kicker, inept O line. Wilson may be passing better after another week healing, but the team has ridden on luck and low to no draft choices for too long. I expect another loss today. I know I sound down, but my excuse is I have a cold and headache. I’m loaded up with Advil and DayQuil and may just go back to bed. It was 31 degrees this morning when Barbara got up. The sprinkler lines were drained last week, hoses come in today. Hope your team wins.

By the way, the Oregon Ducks got pounded by Utah last night, and knocked out of national playoff picture (they had been #3 in the country. Phooey.

Rick, it always hurts when your teams lose. The Bills were completely dominated by the Colts today. Now, they have to suck it up and get ready to play the Saints on Thanksgiving. All the teams the play on Thanksgiving lost today.

Bills lose! Seahawks will lose! Almost all the teams I like lost or will lose! It’s not worth paying attention to anymore! I’m going to rake leaves!

We have two! I use one to blow the leaves into piles but I need a rake and snow shovel to get them in the yard waster bin!

Bob, I resisted the leaf blower for years, but Diane insisted we buy one now since no one wants to rake our leaves any more. Most of the Lawn Service companies around here.now refuse to deal with leaves or clean gutters. Annoying!
