I’ve had mixed feelings about Invasion. Season One showed up in October of 2021 and I found it a slog to get through all 10 episodes. Not enough aliens, too much people freaking out over the Invasion.
Invasion, Season Two showed up in 2023 and the complaints about the first Season were “Tweaked” (I wouldn’t say “fixed) and in general these 10 episodes had more action and suspense.
Season 3 showed up yesterday and based on the first episode, this season is shifting the action in Invasion from defense to offense. The humans are taking on the alien hive mind and changing the momentum of the conflict.
If you’re a fan of alien invasion–especially one ICE can’t handle–you might want to give this 10 episode season a look. GRADE: Incomplete, but trending towards a B+
As usual I say, no Apple+.
Jeff, Diane is reading The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman in preparation for us watching The Thursday Murder Cl on Netflix next week.
Good plan. Marlow Murder Mysteries starts series 2 this weekend, and the latest Unforgotten is also on. Also Professor T.
Jeff, we’re going to DVR PROFESSOR T and MARLOW MURDER MYSTERIES. The last two HALLMARK Mysteries we watched–MYSTERY ISLAND and A PIE TO DIE FOR–sucked.
HALLMARK HOF at its height a half-century ago tended to lean into blandness and “worthiness”…
Todd, the HALLMARK channels have a captive audience who demands romance and Happy Endings. My wife is addict to them…
Of course, it’s a somewhat different Hallmark unit these decades.
Todd, it might surprise you to learn HALLMARK films frequently in Western NY. The upcoming HALLMARK movie about the Buffalo Bills (due around Thanksgiving) was filmed in East Aurora, a pleasant quaint community south of Buffalo.
I believe Hallmark’s production offices are headquartered there…all that lack of strong TV labor union presence and cheap real estate being two of the draws. Also lends iitself to autumnal and winter shooting.
Todd, you’re right again! The cheap real estate, weak unions, and autumnal settings appeal to HALLMARK.
Among the newer stuff, the PEACEMAKER series (HBO) has its points…and I’m enjoying the HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU UK and US and spinoffs I’ve been watching/listening to (even the US podcast in the interregnum before the new season is a videocast). (CNN/HBO)
Todd, I’m looking forward to the second drop of four more WEDNESDAY, SEASON 2 episodes in a week. PEACEMAKER, SEASON 2 looks good!
The PEACEMAKER season premiere was amusing.
