IRON MAN: THE COMPLETE ANIMATED TELEVISION SERIES [3 DVD set]

iron man
When I was a kid, my favorite Marvel superhero was Iron Man. I loved the idea that a really smart guy–Tony Stark–could become a superhero by using technology. Today, we associate Robert Downey, Jr. with Tony Stark and Iron Man. But, back in the 1990s FOX Saturday morning cartoons featured Marvel characters. Iron Man ran for two seasons and all 25 episodes are included on these 3 DVDs. If you’re looking for a guilty pleasure that will take you back to your youth, this is the ticket. Hours of fun! I used to avidly read the comics back home in Italy in the 70s though the chronology was always screwed up as I indiscriminately picked up reprints with new editions – somehow it didn’t seem to matter. Don’t think I’ve ever watched the TV show (but then I only just caught up with the second Downey Jr movie the other week so …) – thanks.

Although I was committed to Supermand and Batman and J.L.A., I never really got into this alternate list of heroes from Marvel. Don’t know why.

Sergio, I was a big comic book reader as a kid. And these animated adventures of IRON MAN brought back that Sense of Wonder. I was able to buy this set for a mere $14. A bargain!

Patti, I also read DC comics as a kid. The Flash and Green Lantern and Batman were my favorites. But I also liked the Marvel Universe especially IRON MAN and DOCTOR STRANGE.

Thanks, George. I have never seen Iron-Man in an animated series or film before and this set looks too good for me to ignore. I still read and collect and read comic-books and the superheroes you mentioned above are some of my favourites too except I’d add the Hulk and Daredevil too.

From the original comic book series with the original Iron Man origin (during WWII), or the second origin story (during the “Asian conflict) with the issues following that, I have no memory of Forceworks. That must have been an element added either in the late Eighties or perhaps for this animated series. This is the kind of thing I’d try for at the library if they had it, or from Netflix.
