Kelly Ripa read It’s a Book to Regis Philbin on LIVE WITH REGIS & KELLY (which immediately made the book a best seller on the NY TIMES CHILDREN’S BOOKS list). Diane had to read the book herself and took It’s a Book out of our public library. Then, of course, I had to read it. It’s basically the story of a monkey who tries to explain what a book is to a techie jackass. “Do you need a password?” the jackass asks. “No,” replies the monkey. Sadly, we might be going through this scenario with our grandkids in a few years. It’s a Book doesn’t have a Kindle version. Yet. GRADE: A
*snork* at the Kindle line
Am I being too snarky, Jeff?
I’m afraid that is indeed the direction we are heading.
I’m planning on buying a new iPad next month, Jeff. Then I’ll be reading ebooks on a regular basis.
With the people lined up at the closing Borders stores here, maybe there is hope.
We have two BORDERS stores near us, Patti. So far, they’re not on the CLOSE list. I try to visit them weekly just to buy SOMETHING! I’m voting with my dollars.
this looks like a must, I’ll be checking the library. I can’t imagine what’s going on, I have 3 books on hold there. Could it be the books ALL STILL IN BOXES HERE?
I’m going to guess that reading IT’S A BOOK will make your blood boil, Rick.
uh oh. I thought it would be amusing. Maybe I’ll skip it, there is enough on the news about the Republicans desires to take us back to the stone age to already have a steady simmer going.
IT’S A BOOK is amusing, Rick. And it takes about 2 minutes to read from beginning to end. But the implications of the book may trouble you.
I love It’s a Book and handsell it whenever possible – usually to people our age.
I don’t think the Kindle folk find it quite as amusing.
I’m on the cusp of becoming an ebook reader, Beth. There’s an iPad in my near future. But, despite that, I’d still enjoy (and recommend like you do) IT’S A BOOK.
