k. d. lang IN CONCERT

This was our third k.d. lang concert. As usual, k.d. entertained the crowd with her humor and good nature between songs. She sang two of her biggest hits, “Hallelujah” (the Leonard Cohen classic) and “Constant Craving.” The crowd called out for “Crying,” but k.d. didn’t sing it this time. She did sing several songs from her 2011 CD, Sing It Loud. Grumpy Brit, Teddy Thompson, was the solo warm-up act. All in all, a satisfying evening of wonderful music.

I’ve been hearing her at Starbucks lately.

Incidentally, the picture didn’t come through for me.

We saw Steely Dan – Request Night last week. Excellent show.

Next week: George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

She has the voice of an angel and Roy Orbison is – well – Roy Orbison.
One of my favorite concerts was the all-star tribute to Roy Orbison while he was still alive to participate. Bruce Springsteen, K.D. Lang, and a host of other rock stars were involved and everyone was having a blast. The concert pops up on PBS pledge drives all the time. Worth owning.

Yeah, the black & white concert was a classic, Beth. And we got to see Orbison perform six months before his death, at Pier 84 on the West Side, where they used to have concerts. He was great.

Steely Dan is indeed great, George. They have a fantastic band playing with them.

For some reason the graphic of k. d. lang is not showing up in Internet Explorer, Jeff. It’s madding. I can see it clearly in Firefox. I need to take a course in Internet graphics.

top picture didn’t come through, George. Seems to be trouble with the pics lately, 4 of the last 5 posts have had at least 1 fail. k.d. lang is not someone I’d go out of my way (such as turn on the radio) to hear. Steely Dan, though, absolutely!

Rick, when I post the graphics, they show up in Firefox. I also check the blog in Internet Explorer. Sometimes the graphics show up, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they disappear for a day or two and then appear again. I have no idea why graphics on the Internet behave this way. I’m really going to have to take a course in Internet Graphics because the problem seeems to be getting worse.
