KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VS. LV RAIDERS and TENNESSEE TITANS VS. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Two NFL Saturday games with Playoff implications. The Kansas City Chiefs are favored by 9 points over the hapless Raiders in the first game. But, a Chiefs win now puts the Chiefs into a position where they would get a First Round Bye as a result of the suspended (for ever!) Bills vs. Bengals game.

The second game is one of those “Win and You’re In” games. The Tennessee Titans, favored by 6 1/2 points, can go to the Playoffs if they defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars. But, the Jaguars, dismissed as hopeless early in the season, can punch their Playoff entry ticket with an unlikely win over the Titans. Who do you think will win these games?

Todd, WORDPRESS finds new ways to torment me on top of the insidious Spellchecker! Yes, it dumped several posts I needed to work on for next week on top of the NFL WEEK 18 post that was scheduled. I’m simply exasperated!

George, I thought so when I read them this morning (in Hungary) and wondered whether you would really raise the frequency of your postings …
    No problem!

Obviously Kansas City. It is a miscarriage of justice for the Chiefs to get the top seed and first round bye without giving the Bills the chance they earned. Boo, Roger Goodell!

The other game is pathetic. Who would have believed the Titans would lose all those games in a row? They don’t deserve to be in the playoffs.

Jeff, the Bills are resigned to adherence to Roger Goodell’s Playoff plan. Kansas City is cruising to a victory over the hapless Raiders. The Titans continue their losing streak tonight, I suspect. The Jaguars seem to be peaking at just the right time!

I love my Chiefs, but I hate the way this was decided. It will forever be an asterisk season if anyone but the Bills or Bengals make the big game, in my mind. I personally don’t see why they didn’t just play the game the next day. Yes, Hamlin’s situation was horrible and thank God he is making fantastic progress, but the NFL is still a job for the players and I think they could have done what was necessary to go to work the next night.

Carl, I was surprised at how the Bills played against the Patriots. It was like they all had a hangover…except for Hines who ran TWO kickoffs back for CDs!

They played much better than the Cowboys did! Whoa, that was pitiful.

Chiefs have spent the entire year playing their worst games against lesser opponents, with the exception of this last week, and even then their offense went to sleep in the second half. I don’t expect them to make it far in the post season. This freebie weekend may be their only win.
