FX Network is pulling the plug on Legion after these 8 episodes air. Legion features Dan Stevens as David, a powerful mutant who has been treated as a patient with schizophrenia when in fact he was possessed by an alien. This final season blend psychedelic aspects with Alice-in-Wonderland references. This MARVEL series specializes in quirky characters–a woman who can switch bodies just by touching you, a time traveller, and two mutants who share a body, etc. Episode One started off with an assault on David’s cult by the strike team of Division 3 (the organization responsible for dealing with mutant threats). David dies, but time travel saves him. More incredible plot twists ahead! If you’re in the mood for something very, very different, I recommend Legion. GRADE: B+
Liked the first two seasons. I like the quirkiness of it. It’s not your typical superhero show. I must admit I’m not always sure just what the hell is going on though.
Steve, you’re right. Sometimes I don’t know what’s going on in LEGION, too. But, there’s enough mystery to keep me watching.
Reality is difficult enough for me. I don’t like struggling to understand something that is not based on reality. If that makes sense.
Patti, you have to be comfortable with strangeness, weirdness, and the bizarre if you’re going to enjoy LEGION. Instead of Surrealism, I think you prefer Naturalism.
We tried the first season but just didn’t get it. We quit and never went back. I’m with Patti here.
Jeff, Diane is with you and Patti, too. She bailed out after the first season of LEGION. LEGION got even more weird in Season Two!
I can accept not KNOWING exactly what’s going on if (and only if) the show can make me CARE what’s going on, and LEGION failed on that level. I got through 2-3 episodes, and it was only the presence of the wonderful Aubrey Plaza that got me that far.
Michael, I’m an Aubrey Plaza fan, too. I wish the LEGION writers would give her more to do. Sometimes I think the directors of LEGION make the episodes off-kilter just for the fun of it.
