TRACKLIST:
Loaded With Hits, released in 2000, was a fund-raising music CD where a portion of the profits went to support the T. J. Martell Foundation for for Leukemia, Cancer, and AIDS Research. I might quibble about how many of these songs are really “hits” but there’s certainly a variety of different musical styles on these two CDs. I’m a big fan of Sarah McLachan’s “Building a Mystery.” “Save Tonight” was a hit for Eagle-Eye Cherry. And we might see Lisa Loeb singing “I Do” in a future GEICO commercial. How many of these “hits” do you recognize? Any favorites? GRADE: B

Hmmmm, not a collection that has much going for it. Most of the artists had bigger hits elsewhere. I do like “The Freshmen” and “C’est La Vie,” but other than that, not much grabs me.
Deb, this set seems to feature second-tier songs.
I also realized that the song titled “C’est La Vie” on this CD is NOT the song by the same title by Robbie Neville. I like Neville’s song, but I’d never heard (until five minutes ago) the song by B*witched—and that’s just as well because it’s awful.
Deb, I would have guessed the Robbie Neville version of “C’est La Vie” was superior to B*witched.
I recognize some of the “artists” names, but none I’ve ever listened to intentionally. No songs I’ve heard at all or, if I have, I don’t remember them. This is a new low, even for compilations.
Michael, but the intention to use the sales of this set to fund-raise is laudable.
Nothing much here for me. A lot of boy band crap and artists aimed at the same audience. A few people I detest such as Celine Dion. A few artists I like but don’t recognize the songs-Tori Amos and Blondie. I would find better use of this disc as a frisbee. D-.
Steve, I think the musical selections and the choice of artists for this CD set were…unfortunate.
I could hang it in my trees to prevent robins from building nests. I have My Fair Lady out there now and this could replace it. I have nothing against birds but the trees are ten feet from my house and the robins keep banging into my windows.
Patti, I just knocked down a bird’s nest that was blocking one of our downspouts. We have a lot of birds here, too. And sometimes, we get those crazy birds that keep trying to fly through our windows!
R. Kelly? Will Smith? The Spice Girls?
Very hard pass. No, do not know any of the songs, nor would I consider listening to this. I do like the Lisa Loeb commercial, however,
Jeff, I liked Lisa Loeb’s songs Back in the Day…but they were all sad songs!
“Maria” is a pretty good post-comeback/reformation song from Blondie, but no, it’s not their best work…but this was pretty clearly What Was On The Shelf for the fundraising purposes.
If I was to choose, Natalie Imbruglia’s catchy actual hit “Torn” would probably be my favorite among the assembled.
Todd, I have a couple Natalie Imbruglia CDs that I need to listen to.
I might well’ve had a better memory of “Torn” thanks to its moderately clever video, which parallels the song, about a romance gone bad, with the annoyances of shooting a full-crew and set music video.

Todd, I remember seeing the “Torn” video on heavy rotation on VH-1 long ago.
Todd, exactly! The fund-raisers got the crumbs…
What Michael said.
Rick, you and Michael seem to be on the same page lately.
Am I getting dyslexic? Is the title of this LOADED WITH SHIT?
Jeff, it depends on how to look at it…
Nothing here to entice me and a few that repel me!
Bob, this set was sold to fund a good cause. But the songs could have been better.
Don’t remember any of those songs – what a pity to sell this for a good cause, really strange.
Wolf, clearly the songs selected for LOADED WITH HITS haven’t held up over Time.
