Tortured fans of Mad Men will have wait until 2015 to see the final episodes of this absorbing series. But, for now, AMC is showing 7 Mad Men episodes starting tonight. Then, next year, we’ll get to see the final 7 episodes. I’ve been a fan of Mad Men from the start. Not too many series are willing to take the risks with their characters that Mad Men seems to inflict on them every episode. And, surprises! I DVR much of what I watch on TV (to zip through the endless commercials) but I’ll be watching Mad Men in Real Time tonight. And check out the Season 7 trailer below.
This is oneI’v never watched.
MY favorite show. Can’t wait.
Randy, MAD MEN is a terrific series. But it requires viewers to start at the beginning.
Patti, I can’t wait for tonight’s episode, either!
Seems odd that they’d take 17 episodes and split them over two years/seasons. You’d think they would make the most of the momentum the show could have over 14 weeks. Like Randy, I didn’t catch this at the beginning, so I’m out of it now. Maybe someday it will show up in a cheap set.
Rick, I blame this whole “split the season into two parts” on HARRY POTTER. Now we have the final book of THE HUNGER GAMES split into two parts, we have THE HOBBIT split into THREE parts, and it’s all about the money.
In film it’s one thing, in commercial television it’s another thing completely. I think a lot of people will just give up rather than watch this extended presentation. It’s already happened with Game of Thrones.
Rick, theY split the final season of BREAKING BAD and THE SOPRANOS. When a program has a devoted audience, like MAD MEN, we’re a prime target for manipulation.
So how was it?
Rick, from a completely biased point of view, I thought the MAD MEN premiere episode was GREAT!
