MARVEL’S M.O.D.O.K., is an American adult animated stop motion television series created by Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt for the streaming service Hulu, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The series is produced by Marvel Television, with Blum serving as showrunner.
Patton Oswalt stars as M.O.D.O.K., a supervillain struggling to handle his company and family. Aimee Garcia, Ben Schwartz, Melissa Fumero, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Beck Bennett, Jon Daly, and Sam Richardson also star. Genius M.O.D.O.K., frustrated after spending years failing to gain control of the world and battling superheroes like Iron Man (and losing!), finds himself removed from his company A.I.M. after it falls into bankruptcy and is sold to a rival company, GRUMBL. M.O.D.O.K. begins to deal with his troubled family while facing a mid-life crisis. This is silly stuff, but I found it mildly entertaining. This is one case where Father DOES NOT know best! GRADE: B
In one neat little package this manages to press nearly all of my NO buttons.
Michael, perhaps the DISNEY+ people had the same reaction to MARVEL’S M.O.D.O.K. that you did. Which explains why it’s on HULU and not on DISNEY+ with all the other MARVEL series.
No Hulu. but even if we did, I’m with Michael. But then, put “Marvel” on the title and George is all over it!
Jeff, sometimes I think I live in the MARVEL Universe!
If I am going to watch an animated movie, I know it should be the very well thought of THE MITCHELLS VS THE MACHINE. But I somehow never do. I never did as a kid either. Only real people make them real for me, I guess.
Patti, I watch a lot of cartoons and animated features. Diane’s says I’m still 12 years old!
I will still watch Looney Tunes on occasion but won’t go anywhere near anything by Hanna-Barbera.
Steve, I’m not a fan of Hanna-Barbera, either. But, I’m a sucker for animated features of Batman, Spiderman, Justice League, Iron Man, The Avengers, etc.
Don’t do silly and my gosh that thing is ugly. Big no.
Rick, ugly is in the eye of the beholder. Some people revere Evil Geniuses.
I guess I’ll have to surrender my membership in the Merry Marvel Marching Society! I vote NO!
Bob, you should watch an episode or two of MARVEL’S M.O.D.O.K. before you surrender your MERRY MARVEL MARCHING SOCIETY membership!
MODOK was one of the sillier-looking Jack Kirby villain creations, late in his career, so it makes sense that nowadays they’d turn him into a comic cartoon character. Not that I have the least interest in watching it.
Art, during the credits Jack Kirby’s name pops up.
