The fourth movie in the Men in Black franchise features the dynamic duo of Tessa Thompson (as a probationary Person in Black Agent M) and Chris Hemsworth (as Agent H). Thompson and Hensworth had great chemistry in Thor: Ragnarok and that on-screen chemistry only improves in Men in Black International. Emma Thompson, head of Men in Black (New York) sends Agent M to London where trouble is brewing. Agent M and Agent H team up when the alien they’re supposed to protect gets assassinated on their Watch. The plot thickens as Thompson and Hensworth follow the clues of a galactic scheme with diabolical aspects. Men in Black International is an old-fashioned Summer popcorn movie. I hope Thompson and Hemsworth team up again. GRADE: B
The first was the best, obviously, but these are always fun to watch.
Chris Hemsworth is really flavor of the month lately.
Jeff, Chris Hemsworth’s Agent H shows off some nice James Bond moves. And Tessa Thompson dazzles in every movie she’s in.
It’s gotten terrible reviews.
Rick, compared to the first MEN IN BLACK movie, MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL is definitely inferior. But, given Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson on the screen, it’s an okay movie experience.
Whomever they are, I’ve not heard of them, but not being much of a moviegoer, I guess I wouldn’t have. Besides, when I do go to a movie, I go for the story, not the actors.
Rick, Chris Hemsworth plays Thor in the MARVEL MOVIE Universe. He’s excellent. Tessa Thompson played a Valkyrie in THOR: RAGNAROK. Superb performance! The story of all the MEN IN BLACK movies is: Save the Earth from Alien scum!
The original ,MIB was one of the few movies I watched in the cinema, heard so much bad stuff about the following films that I waited for them on tv – and changed channels soon …
For me this is the Hollywood disease:
If there’s a good and successful movie – you need sequels!
And often there are no more good ideas after the original has been used.
Movies whose concept is a series are even worse sometimes.
Wolf, Hollywood is all about the Money. If a movie succeeds, a sequel shows up soon afterward to vacuum up more money. Just look at the Bond films. The series has made billions of dollars.
Ye! :)s, George, series are all the rage …
A bit OT:
My wife just watched Hunger Games – the Mockingbird part 1 in Hungarian, she really likes that series – something different from the usual
Wolf, I liked THE HUNGER GAMES series, too. The second book/movie was my favorite.
