In our unending quest to stimulate the U.S. economy before we fall off the Fiscal Cliff, I bought the DELL XPS One 2710 all-in-one computer. No computer tower: everything is in the monitor. And I really LOVE the 27 inch high-definition monitor! Yes, there are some annoyances. I have to learn Windows 8. I’m just bumbling around so far using the touch screen. Patrick needs to install the Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard before he leaves for Peru. Right now, I’m using the Chiclet keyboard that came with the DELL. I HATE Chiclet keyboards! After just a day of using the new DELL XPS One 2710 I can testify that it’s lightning fast. If you’re looking for a new computer, I recommend this DELL.
Phil’s new desktop computer will be a Mac. We decided since we had an ipad and an iphone, it made sense to switch. Luckily, the university is buying it although it is bottom of the line.
Of course, I will still have a PC laptop and at work he has a Dell. So we’re all over the place. We have had terrible luck with our current desk top Dell. In three years, we have rebuilt it twice. I would love to get rid of all the wires that string around this room. We need a wireless expert to come in and figure it out.
My new DELL has a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, Patti. Patrick wanted me to go with an Apple, but my College is still in the PC/Windows 8 world so I had to go in that direction.
Nice! The President and Michael Dell thank you. That screen is as big as our television! W have two Dells and like them fine. That new one looks mighty tempting when we are next ready to upgrade. By then you should be able to give us all your insights.
What’s Patrick doing in Peru? Business or pleasure?
Patrick wanted to spend NEW YEAR’S EVE in Peru, Jeff. The kid gets around.
Jackie says her friend Lola has one of these in her school office too, so she’s familiar with it.
I’m liking the big screen, Jeff. And no wires.
I’m a Dell fan too but, now that I’m not working on four newsletters a month, I can wait. I hate those shallow, small keyboards. Let’s use that for one of the main reasons I don’t text. Enjoy your new toy, George!
I’m a fan of the Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard, Beth. The new one is wireless.
I’ve had all this plus the Mac OS, and minus the blasted Windows OS, for years in our iMac. You’re behind the times unless you’re that in love with Windows. Ya should’a got a Mac!
No, Rick, I am not in love with Windows. But my College is firmly in the Windows/PC camp so I have to learn what I might be teaching students in the coming semesters. Both Patrick and Katie are hardcore Apple users.
Fun! I have read a few other reviews of this computer and people seem to be liking the touch screen aspect of it. Glad to hear how fast it is, with all the great technology today there is simply no excuse in my opinion for computers to be slow running.
PC MAGAZINE named the DELL XPS One 2710 the Best PC of 2012, Carl. I’ve had good luck with my past three DELLs. The new DELL is fast, fast, fast!
