After last week’s surprising 27-14 win over Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts, the Bills now face the reigning Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots and Tom “I Destroy My Cell Phones All the Time” Brady. As you might suspect, Buffalo Bills fans are whipped up into a frenzy. Tom Brady has a 23-3 record against the Bills. This is a huge game for both teams as the AFC East seems to be improving in quality. All four teams in the AFC East won their games last week. How will your favorite NFL team do today?
I hope the Bills destroy The Brady Bunch.
I fear the Seahawks may not be ready for prime time yet.
Let’s go, Bills!
The Giants have their home opener this afternoon against the Falcons. They should win. Will they? That remains to be seen.
Jeff, the Falcons looked good against the Eagles last week. But the Giants really need a win after losing to the Cowboys.
Bob, winning in Green Bay is tough for any visiting team.
I’m so down about football this year that I don’t even know who the Cowboys and Texans are playing. So I’ll just root for the Bills. Be sure the refs check the air pressure in the footballs.
Bill, the BUFFALO BILLS STORE is selling air pumps to fans. Local service stations have signs up offering FREE AIR TO PATRIOTS. Today’s game should be something!
After last week’s uninspiring loss to the Cardinals, the Saints return to the Superdome and some home cooking to face Tampa Bay. There was a time when the Saints simply could not lose a home game, but last season put pay to that. What I saw of the team pre-season and last week was not reassuring; I call them Drew and the not-ready-for-prime- time players. I actually saw a sign yesterday: “New game show: Name that Saint.” Down here in southeastern Louisiana where the Saints are an unofficial branch of Catholicism, such a sign would have been blasphemy two years ago, but this is how far the boys in black and gold have fallen.
Deb, I hear the Pope is a Saints fan! If a team needed a win, playing the woeful Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be the way to get it.
Bill, the Cowboys are playing in Philadelphia. Let’s go, Eagles! I’m sure DeMarco Murray has something to prove.
Jeff, you’re right. DeMarco Murray will want to show Jerry Jones he made Mistake in letting him go to Philly.
I watched the game. Murray was pretty useless. Sorry the Cowboys let him go, but never sorry to see the Eagles lose!
Scott, the Eagles looked fabulous in preseason. But now, they’re 0-2. Reality bites!
“Buffalo Bills fans are whipped up into a frenzy”. Oh my. That might make sense if this was a big playoff game, but 2nd week of the season? Can’t see it, regardless of opponent.
As for the Seattle Seahawks, I don’t know, and won’t until I read the newspaper tomorrow. We’re doing pre-Fall cleanup in the garden this morning, then going out for the day and early evening. We watched the Stanford-USC game yesterday and that’s our football for the weekend.
Rick, right now Tom Brady is deflating the 70,000 fans at the Patriots vs. Bills game. The Pats are up 37-13 right now. Yikes!
The Giants stunk out the Meadowlands in the second half, giving the game away to the Falcons.
It is going to be a long, long season.
Jeff, the Bills gave up almost 500 passing yards to Brady. Pitiful.
Well, you must admit Brady is good, and the Bills aren’t jelled yet, but I’m sorry to hear they lost. Jeff, I think the Giants need a new quarterback. Or something.
Off to dinner with friends. I’m probably better off not seeing the Seahawks game.
Rick, Brady is now 24-3 against the Bills. He owns us. I can’t figure the Giants out. They had 10-point leads in the 4th Quarter in the last two games…and still lost.
I told you the Seahawks weren’t ready.
This morning I read the Seahawks had a one point lead before giving up 11 unanswered points. They need to get Chancellor back and they need to shape up at wide receiver. Still a long way to go in the season.
Rick, I’m concerned about the long list of NFL injuries. If this continues, no-name players will be on the field in December.
