Sorry, Deb, but I have to go with the Seahawks at home. The Seahawks are favored by 8 points, but I think the final score will be closer than that. In the second Playoff game, the Past and the Future collide. Tom Brady faces the QB phenom Andrew Luck. Last year in the Playoffs, the Patriots beat Luck and the Colts 59-24. But that was then and this is NOW. I know New England is favored by 7 1/2 points, but I’m going with the Colts in an upset. Who do you think will win?
The Saints managed to break the “can’t win a playoff game on the road” curse last week, but I think today will be their Waterloo. As I said last week, the Saints only have themselves to blame for twice failing to hold a lead that they were holding with less than two minutes left in the game. Winning those two games could have put the Saints on the road to another Super Bowl victory. As it is, they had a winning season, recovered from “Bountygate,” and developed some good, new players. As the Who Dat Nation learned to say in the forty years prior to the Super Bowl win, wait for next season.
Deb, anything could happen. The Seahawks could self-destruct like the Kansas City Chiefs did last week. Buffalo Bills’ fans are looking forward to the NFL Draft.
The Patriots have been living on the edge for two months. This could be the week they fall off. Either way, I doubt they cover the spread.
I’ll be rooting for the Saints but it looks like the Seahawks should move on to the Championship game.
Jeff, you’re right about the Patriots being extremely lucky the last half dozen games. The Seahawks seem to be everyone’s favorite to go to the Super Bowl.
Go Seahawks. I just want to watch an entertaining game with no injuries and w/o too many penalties and official’s interruptions. Seems Jeff would rather have the Saints win (why, got something against the Pacific Northwest?) but I hope it doesn’t happen. Still with Drew Brees at QB, anything can happen any time. Should be a good game. In the other one, I won’t be rooting for either side.
No offense, Rick. I just like them. Since the Giants are out of it my favorite team left is the 49ers. But Seattle, San Francisco, New Orleans or Carolina will have my support in the Super Bowl.
Of course, I am rooting for the Seahawks, which is bound to doom them. Yes, I am in control of the world.
Rick, the Seahawks downed the Saints 34-7 a month or so ago. This will be a closer game.
Jeff, Carolina is the Dark Horse team in the NFC. The Colts–pun intended–are the Dark Horse team in the AFC.
Patti, we all know you have Special Powers.
Deb, the Saints battled back, but they had too much to overcome. They’ll be back in the Playoffs next year!
I’m picking the Seahawks and Patriots, which is easy since the games ended hours ago.
Boy, can Bob pick ’em. Sorry, George, but your Colts didn’t have much chance with 4 more Luck interceptions. The Patriot running game was brutal. Now I wonder if anyone can beat them.
Today, I expect the Forty Niners to beat Carolina and Denver to beat the Chargers. That leads me to wonder if Seattle can beat SF a second time and if Denver could stop that Patriot running game. I can envision a 49er-Patriot super bowl, though I’d rather see the Seahawks against the AFC winner.
