SAN FRANCISCO 49ers VS. CAROLINA PANTHERS, SAN DIEGO CHARGERS VS. DENVER BRONCOS

The Niners are favored by 2 points, but this game could go to Overtime. Cam Newton and the Panthers are red-hot. But the Niners have the edge in Playoff experience (and it isn’t 20 degrees below zero for this game). I’m going with the Niners in a squeaker. Peyton Manning struggles in the Playoffs. The Broncos are favored by 10 points. The Chargers beat the Broncos a few weeks ago, but I suspect some of the starters were being rested. I’m sorry to say the Chargers’ dreams come to an end in Mile High Stadium. What do you think of today’s games?

I hate Denver and hope they lose, but wouldn’t bet that way. I think the Niners will have the edge in their game, but I’ll be pulling for the Panthers. It should be a day of great disappointments to me.

I’d be shocked if the Chargers won but I guess we’ll see. The Niners should win but Carolina is on a major roll. I just can’t decide if what I want to happen will actually happen.

The weather in the first half really played havoc with Drew Brees yesterday but the Seahawks’ defense really deserves credit for the win. The Saints played well defensively but Brees let them down. The Colts looked outmatched. I guess giving Belichick two weeks to prepare still pays off.

Jeff, you’re right about Drew Brees never getting comfortable until the end of the game against the Seahawks. You’re right about Belichick’s plans for Andrew Luck. The Colts gave it their all, but it wasn’t enough.

Sorry, George, but your Colts didn’t have much chance with 4 more Luck interceptions. The Patriot running game was brutal. Now I wonder if anyone can beat them.

Today, I expect the Forty Niners to beat Carolina and Denver to beat the Chargers. That leads me to wonder if Seattle can beat SF a second time and if Denver could stop that Patriot running game. I can envision a 49er-Patriot super bowl, though I’d rather see the Seahawks against the AFC winner.

I guess we get the game everyone seems to want (except Rick, perhaps) – SanFrancisco at Seattle. Carolina failing to get it into the end zone SEVEN times from the one yard line doomed any chance they had. The Patriots looked great yesterday but they are far from unbeatable.

I was right, the bad guys carried the day in both games today. I didn’t watch much of it. Who needs the aggravation?

I thought the Broncos should have put this game away long ago instead of which they let the Chargers hang around until they almost gave them a chance to tie ir.

If both teams play next week the way they played this week it will be the Patriots in the Super Bowl yet again.

Might have been a different story if the Colts had played the Chargers. Looks like the weather in Seattle next Sunday will be better than for the Saints game, which will be to the liking of the Niners. I want the Seahawks to win, but I’m very nervous.
