I’m keeping this very simple. I want to lose 11 pounds in 2011. That’s less than a pound a month. I’m going to try to cut back on the desserts and second helpings and up the exercise at the pool each day. No grandiose resolutions, just one that I really need to focus on. Good luck with your resolutions!
Resolutions are basically pointless at this stage, I’d say. And as Bill’s blog showed last week, few of them last more than a week or two.
My resolution is: give up resolutions.
I’ve never been a big resolutions guy, Jeff. But I need to become a bit lighter.
Never have made one yet except for the daily resolution to eat less.
We’re on the same wavelength, Patti.
Last year I vowed to end hunger and disease and to bring about world peace. Look how that turned out.
Last year I wasn’t hungry or diseased, Bob. And my life is peaceful. So your vow worked for me.
My resolution is that in 2011, 4 out of every 5 books I read will be ones I owned on January 1, 2011. In other words, read what I have instead of new stuff. This is not to say I won’t buy any more books, just that I’ll focus on read the books I have now.
My reading is guided by serendipity, Rick. I could stop buying books and still not live long enough to read all the books I own.
Good one, Rick. I’m also trying to read more of my own books instead of library books. Of course, in recent years the number of books I’ve bought (or got at the exchange) has gone up so it balances out.
George, that does sound eminently doable. Jackie is on a similar program. She’s managed to keep off the 40 pounds she lost already and is trying to get down some more.
Congratulations to Jackie, Jeff! I hope you see a smaller me at BOUCHERCON in September.
