NEW YORK JETS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

It’s fitting that this meaningless Jets vs. Bills game is blacked out here because 13,000 seats at Ralph Wilson Stadium remain unsold. Who in the world would want to sit in a snow-filled stadium to watch these two underachieving teams. This is the final game of the season for both of these disappointing teams. How is your favorite NFL team going to do today? Are you ready for the Playoffs?

The Saints’ disappointing season ends today. There’s no chance of them making the playoffs, but if they win today (against Carolina), they will end the season 8-8, which means we’ll be able to say the Saints did not have a losing season.

The Saints will be a much better team next year, Deb. The Buffalo Bills owner hints he’s going to fire everyone so it’s back to the drawing board next season.

Looks like you’ll be facing Sanchez so the Bills should have a good chance to win today.

Sadly the Giants tossed away what looked like a promising season at one point. The only way they make the playoffs is if they beat the Eagles and Dallas, Minnesota and Chicago (the least likely) all lose.

If not this will be the third time in four tries they failed to make the playoffs the year after winning the Super Bowl. (They didn’t make it after the one Super Bowl they lost either.)

The fans (and the media) think the Bills players have quit on their coaching staff, Jeff. The windchill is 9 degrees at Ralph Wilson Stadium right now. You couldn’t pay me to go to this game!

I expect Buffalo to beat the Jets(what a mess their season has been). The big game, of course, is the “Skins-Cowboys. RG III is not completely back, but I think they will take the Cowboys.

The Cowboys might have the edge if RG3 is hurt more than he’s letting on, Randy. I’m guessing the Bills are going to lie down and let the Jets win this game.

I’m hoping the Seahawks beat the Rams, which they should do, but we all know about “should” wins. The Niners ought to win too. I’ll watch the Seahawks game, and the Redskins-Dallas game (go, Redskins).

Saints lost–so they had a losing season (7-9). As soon as Sean Payton signs his new NFL-approved contract, we can put this thoroughly undistinguished season behind us and start working on next year. Even some if my friends who are rabid members of the Who-Dat nation didn’t bother to watch today’s game.

I’m sure the Saints will be back to their winning ways in 2013, Deb. The Bills, on the other hand, face another year of “rebuilding.”

Definitely ready for the playoffs. The team I’ve followed since childhood, the Cowboys, screwed away their playoff chances today. The team from my current hometown, the Chiefs, cemented their bid for the number one draft pick today. And the Saints lost, another team I really like and am sad won’t be in the hunt this year.

But I also like the Patriots (I’m sure that will not make you happy) and am glad they are in it and I’m enjoying watching Peyton Manning play well on his comeback. Not sure who I am ultimately cheering for in the playoffs this year, just hope for some good close games.

I respect what Brady and Belichick have done over the past decade, Carl. I just wish the Bills had been smart enough to sign Belichick and Brady. I’m still amazed at Peyton Manning’s fabulous come-back!

And with the Top Seed in the AFC (impressive 11 straight game win streak!), Peyton gets to rest his neck an extra week. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills did the Right Thing and fired Chan Gailey and his staff.

I got home from Tankon today, and while there had a total media blackout. I heard on the car radio that the Seahawks won and will face hated Washington in the playoffs. So I’m glad to hear the hated Cowboys lost and the hated Stealers won’t be in the playoffs (although that was settled last week). I also heard that a slew of head coaches were axed. I need to switch over the the ESPN site to catch the latest.

Tankon was fine, as usual. I read four books, saw a bunch of movies, and ate like a pig.
