After several years of daily use our trusty Kitchenaid toaster died and we replaced it with a new Kitchenaid toaster: the KitchenAid KMT2115CU Contour Silver 2-Slice Toaster. What I like about the Kitchenaid toasters is their simple design and their performance. Notice the minimal controls: a bagel button and a CANCEL button. That’s it. There’s a temperature dial (Number One works for me). And there’s a lever to start the toasting process. The slots are wide enough to accommodate the largest bagels. I don’t need a lot of bells or whistles. This new Kitchenaid toaster beeps when the toast pops up. Nice!
We have gone through a lot of toasters in our many years of marriage. Maybe this one will be our next choice.
I’m with you. We also go for the simple two slice toaster with the wide slots and the bagel setting. (Ours is an Oster but otherwise looks very similar.)
Keep stimulating the economy!
Patti, we’ve had good performance from our Kitchenaid toasters. Diane and Katie also love their Kitchenaid stand mixers.
Jeff, we have an Oster blender that works great. Diane just booked a trip to Albuquerque to visit Patrick in October. The stimulus continues! Why do you think the Stock Market keeps going up!
We’re quite happy with out Cusinart toaster, has bagel slot, defrost setting, 8 ranges of light to dark. It’s getting old, about 15 years, but keeps on ticking along. Most important thing to keep toasters working is to keep them clean.
Rick, our toaster gets used everyday (sometimes multiple times). We average about seven years of use before we have to buy a new toaster.
K. always jokes that I like my toast blonde. K.’s toast could be carbon 14 dated.
A special setting for bagels is a must.
Beth, I’m with you: blonde toast and Blonde Starbucks coffee! The people who prefer their toast black are a mystery to me.
i prefer my toast as bread and not toast at all
Most folks don’t believe me when I tell them this, but the toaster I have was given to me by my mother and it’s age is unknown, at least forty years, probably more. One has to watch it because occasionally(and I mean occasionally), it doesn’t pop up in time.
Randy, I bet that reliable toaster of yours is made of metal. Every new toaster we buy is lighter and lighter: more plastic than metal. That’s why they don’t last.
Oster, red, toast/bagel/defrost/warm selections. It was on sale at Xmas a couple of years ago so I got it for Linda. She got me the exact same one. We regifted one to Stephanie.
I wish I could get as many responses to my blogs as this. Maybe I ought to mention my power screwdriver.
Bob, I only have two tools: a screwdriver and a hammer. I can’t fix anything so I don’t want any tools that would tempt me to TRY to fix something…and increase the repair bill.
My Mum and I both bought Kitchenaid toasters £125 each. They both lasted approximately eight years. I thought at that price it would have lasted me a lifetime !!! Going to buy one in Tescos for £35 Wil not b buying Kitchenaid again even though it looked very nice.
Ann, we only use our KitchenAid occasionally. So far, it works just fine.
This looks like a brilliant toaster, i might purchase this toaster for university next year. Toaster’s are a real passion of mine and I just love toast more than anything.
Thomas, the Kitchenaid Toaster is the best!
