Plenty of my health-conscious friends recommended that I try Fage (pronounced Fa-yeh) Greek yogurt. I did and came away impressed. There are only 6 grams of carbohydrates per serving. The texture of the yogurt is smooth and creamy. I jazzed the Fage yogurt up with some peach slices and walnuts. Yum! Yogurt has been shown to lower blood pressure when eaten regularly. And, the active cultures in the yogurt keep your digestive system in tip-top shape. If you’re a yogurt fan, give Fage Total Greek Yogurt a try. GRADE: A
I love Greek-style yogurt–in fact, as I sit here, I’m sipping a fruit smoothie I made for breakfast with frozen berries, banana, flax, and Greek yogurt–yum! It sure beats the days of having to drain regular yogurt overnight through cheesecloth to get the desired creaminess. This yogurt is also great in Indian and Mediterranean style sauces.
Deb, you’re going to live to be a 100! I won’t eat most yogurts like Yoplait because they’re too high carbs–they’re desserts really with all that sugar. Fage is lower in carbs and still tastes great.
I love Greek yogurt, and it has protein that Dannon and other “regular” yogurts don’t. I add my Kellogg’s All-Bran for 5 grams worth of fiber and extra crunch.
When I was traveling in France, Jeff, I ate some Dannon yogurt that was delicious. When I returned to the U.S. I bought some Dannon and tried it. The U.S. Dannon tastes nothing like the French Dannon. And most of the Dannon yogurts are too high carb for me.

Looks like George’s blog is becoming yet another “healthy living” site. That’s nice, I guess, for those who want it, but I also get that stuff in the newspaper, on the local and national news, in every magazine and, it seems, everywhere else I turn. I’m besieged with this stuff! I know, I know, already. Can we please get back to book reviews???

Rick, I want you to stay healthy so you can continue to read my book reviews (there’s one tomorrow and the next day!). Yogurt will help you!
I eat one of these every day of my life. I add two tbsps of Trader Joe’s Ginger Almond granola and a half cup of fresh fruit to it and am ready to go.
That sounds yummy, Patti!
Right now I’m lovin’ black cherry Oikos. And we’re keeping Benny’s sensitive tummy healthy with plain yogurt mixed with pumpkin at least once a day.
Maybe I could send a portion to Mr. Grumpy?
Beth, I’ll have to give that black cherry Oikos a try. And you’re a peach for sending Art Scott P. G. Wodehouse: A Life in Letters!
What Rick said.
There is not enough to say about books to keep a blog going 365. None of us is that devoted. Almost maybe.
Patti, like you I like to change things up once in a while. I vary book reviews with music CD review, DVD reviews, food reviews, etc. I’m a “Variety is the spice of Life” kind of guy.
