RED NOTICE [Netflix]

If you like caper movies, you’ll enjoy Red Notice, a Netflix original film. Ryan Reynolds plays a master art thief who is trying to steal all three of Cleopatra’s golden eggs. Dwayne Johnson plays an FBI profiler who can anticipate the movements of criminals. And Gal Gadot plays The Bishop, a mysterious character who is also trying to steal all of Cleopatra’s priceless golden eggs.

Red Notice hopscotches around the world like a global scavenger hunt. Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot take turns double-crossing the each other while cracking the most sophisticated security systems.

Plenty of action in this heist adventure! If you’re looking for an action movie with humor and plenty of trickery, give Red Notice a try. GRADE: B

This looks like an OK time waster, and I’ll probably get to it next week. I used to avoid Dwayne Johnson back when he was calling himself The Rock, but he’s grown on me. And I’ve always found Ryan Reynolds to be an amiable presence in movies of this sort. I’ve seen very little of Gal Gadot because the kind of movies she’s been in generally don’t appeal to me. Looks like I’ve missed something.

Michael, trust me. Or if not, read the sccathing reviews. It is a total waste of talent by a guy who made The Rock’s last turkey, SKYSCRAPER. He can’t direct. It is inert. Te opening chase scene had me scrolling the phone looking for entertainment. Reynolds’ “banter” was deadly. We turned it off before Gadot turned up.

Jeff, Gal Gadot is the best part of RED NOTICE! I wish there was a larger role in it for her. If Netflix orders a sequel to RED NOTICE, I’ll watch it.

Reynolds would tend to be the dealbreaker for me. Always whiny. Didn’t hate the director’s previous confections, the one or two I’d seen, but timewaster isn’t too far from what they were…pleasant enough!

Wolf, the Republicans have made Education a political issue. Books are being banned and certain topics, like Critical Race Theory, can’t be taught in public schools in some states.
