I’m a big Star Wars fan. But when the animated series of The Clone Wars started on The Cartoon Network five years ago, I was skeptical. I figured the animated series would be dumbed down for kids. WRONG! Yes, there are elements added to the mix to attract and hold younger viewers (mostly younger characters and animals) but the storylines are clever and sophisticated. I’ve grown to like the pseudo-3D animatation, too. This just released set of three Blu-ray discs include some great stories set on exotic planets. There are 506 minutes of action and suspense here just waiting for you. A bargain! GRADE: A
I didn’t know about this at all. I wonder if Kevin has watched it.
Kevin might know about THE CLONE WAR series if he watches THE CARTOON NETWORK, Patti. They occasionally have marathon showings of THE CLONE WARS so it’s easy to get caught up.
I had your same reservations about this, George. I didn’t bother with it and now I’m wondering if that was a mistake. Are all 4 seasons available?
– Rick
Yes, Rick, all four seasons of THE CLONE WARS are available. And well worth watching!
By the way, hows the weather? Also, has Jeff M. returned home or is he still out west?
Jeff and Jackie are going to try to fly back to NYC on Saturday, Rick. I wish them well. Things are chaotic east of us.
Never seen any of these but years ago was pleasantly surprised when I found I preferred the new CGI version of CAPTAIN SCARLETT to the puppet original so I’ll keep an eye out – thanks!
You might want to check out THE CLONE WARS episodes on some online sites, Sergio. I first watched THE CLONE WARS on DVDs from my local public library. That’s another option.
One of these days I need to borrow these from my friend Jeff…or rather his son…and get caught up. I had the same feelings you initially did but you and he and many others have assured me that for a Star Wars fan these are must-see and well worth the time.
THE CLONE WAR series won me over, Carl. I went in a Skeptic and, after watching all four seasons, came out a Believer!
