I’m a big fan of Starbucks Blonde coffee. Regular Starbucks coffee can be too strong with some bitterness. Not the Blonde variety. They’re always smooth and mellow. Starbacks brought out Willow and Veranda Blonde coffees a couple years ago. Now, Starbucks has introduced two new flavors: Aria and Bright Sky. Both are yummy. If you’re a coffee lover, you need to try these two new Starbucks Blonde coffees. Bright Sky has a light, nutty flavor that’s similar to that of toasted mixed nuts. Aria has a hint of citrus and cocoa. Both are refreshing!
George, Starbucks has been popular in India since they entered a couple of years ago. I tasted a couple of their coffee flavours and didn’t like it very much; As you mentioned, I found it too bitter. Maybe, I’ll like their Blonde coffee. I’m a tea drinker and I drink coffee once or twice a year. Coffee, including filter coffee, is extremely popular in South India.
I take my coffee like my women: murky and bitter.
Dan, but Blonede coffee drinkers have more fun.
Also a tea drinker. Although I occasionally have a cup at Starbucks but usually find it too strong. I will try the blonde next time.
Patti, I drink more tea during the winter (especially when I’m sick). You’ll like the Blonde coffees much more than the usual strong, bitter Starbucks coffee.
Jackie is the Starbucks fanatic. Other than days when we have brunch (hence: coffee) we are in Starbucks pretty much every day. I always seem to be refilling her card. She likes her coffee stronger than I do these days so I will probably try these. Usually I will have half Pike/half Blonde.
Jeff, you’ll like these new Blonde flavors. I’m a little more partial to Bright Sky than Aria, but both are good.
The “nutty” definitely appeals to me more. Jackie says Blonde is too weak for her. She says if you like smooth you should order Community Coffee from New Orleans. We get a shipment twice a year of their medium dark roast and mix it with Kirkland Coffee from Costco for breakfast.
Jeff, my niece who works in New Orleans brings me Chicory coffee when she visits home.
I like my coffee strong, “bold” in Starbucks parlance, and so does Barbara. Even the medium coffees are to flavorless and light for us, let alone the blonde, which we liken to colored water. We tried one of the Marley (as in Bob Marley’s son) Jamaican coffees and it was way too light, we gave the bag away after one pot. We drink Starbucks Gold Coast, one of their boldest Morning Joe types, and we drink it black, except occasionally with a dollop of Irish Cream (usually at the holidays).
The only time I find the coffee bitter is when we haven’t kept the coffee maker scrupulously clean. We clean it and run vinegar and then hot water through it once a week, and wash the filter holder every day. You can’t let the oils from the coffee build up or you get bitter coffee.
Rick, you’re right about the need to clean the coffee maker with white vinegar on a regular basis. My Braun has a filter that I replace with a new filter every couple of months. It makes a huge difference in the taste of the coffee! Other than the Blonde coffees, I also enjoy Starbucks Columbian which is very smooth.
