I’m open to trying new flavors of coffee so this Starbucks Signature Collection intrigued me. My favorite is the Cinnamon Dolce which is mild with a hint of cinnamon flavor. I also liked the Hazelnut coffee with its rich flavor.
I was not too keen on the Carmel or Toffeenut brews. The Vanilla and Toasted Graham coffees were just okay. But, I’ll continue to buy Cinnamon Dolce and Hazelnut. Do you like flavored coffees? Do you have any favorites?
For me coffee is the medicine when I’m sleepy and have to wake up.
So it has to be (not too ..) strong with milk and sugar – anything else would be arghhh …
My wife likes a bit of cinnamon – but no sugar.
Totally OT (I get these flashes in my memory sometimes):
Many years ago I was in NYC in a cheap hotel, no coffee machine in the room or in the lobby. So on the second day I bought a cheap water heater (only 400 Watt) so I could use it in the restroom and some soluble coffee to get awake in the morning and go out for sightseeing – and shopping in the Forbidden Planet. I used that machine also sometimes to heat up those Japanese noodles in the plastic can (Ramen?) to eat in my room when I was too tired or too lazy to go out for a small dinner …
Those were the days!
Wolf, most U.S. hotel rooms now include coffee-makers. And, usually, the coffee packets they provide are pretty good!
I don’t drink nearly as much coffee as I did before I retired, and I’ll stick with basic coffee flavored coffee.
Michael, I usually just drink coffee in the morning and then I’m set for the day.
Yeah, coffee flavor. No, I don’t like flavored coffee. Jackie used to buy it years ago (stuff with chocolate or coconut or whatever flavoring) but we’ve gon back to the basics now. We use a combination of Starbucks Dark French Roast and Eight O’Clock Medium Colombian.
Jeff, I’m willing to try flavored coffees, but most of them don’t appeal to me after the first couple of cups.
Just tea for me and mostly black tea.
Patti, I’ve been drinking cold PURE LEAF Block Tea during this hellishly hot Summer. August 2021 is now officially the hottest month on record for Western NY. It was 91 degrees yesterday and will get just as hot today!
I’m pretty much hooked on Peets.
Dan, that’s an interesting option!
My parents’ sixties-era electric percolator (with the little glass dome) is one of my favorite childhood memories. It’s gentle bubbling and the accompanying rich smell of brewed coffee made every mornings seem that much cozier. I didn’t start drinking coffee myself until the explosion of coffee shops in the nineties. I’d given up on bars by my early thirties so they were a nice alternative if I wanted a place to hang out in the evening.
As for brewing coffee at home, I went through far too many of those damn, easily broken French presses before I found a stainless steel stovetop coffee pot (complete with dome). I’ve had the thing for years and don’t mind the minimal effort and little extra time it takes to use. I bought it from the Vermont Country Store, who still send out catalogs that are a memory goldmine for anyone who grew up between the 50s and 80s.
I’ve never been a flavored coffee guy and there is a local roaster who makes a dark blend called Black Diamond that is wonderfully potent. Just cream please.
Byron, that Black Diamond blend sounds intriguing!
Never drink coffee. I’ll drink tea but mostly in the colder months.
Steve, I usually cut down on coffee consumption in Hot Months…and up it in the Cold Months.
No flavorings! Black coffee, strong, 1 to 2 cups in the morning. Starbucks is our usual, but we go to Peets sometimes or also Stumptown, getting their coffee of the day t either one.
Rick, I’m a sucker for marketing like STARBUCKS SIGNATURE COLLECTION. I only really like two of the six coffees, but Starbucks got me to buy them all!
I don’t drink the noxious swill
Bob, I remember my last trip to Seattle for a BOUCHERCON and saw a coffee shop on almost every corner!
