STORAGE WAR$, SEASON FINALE

Count this as one of my guilty pleasures. Watching Storage Wars and some of the other reality TV programs on A&E could be considered wasting time. But, there’s something about wondering what’s in that storage locker, trash or treasure (its mostly trash). And the bidding is always fun. Will the winner make money or lose money on the contents of the locker? This season, Darryl was feuding with his son Brandon. Dave (“The Mogul”) Hester was forced to downsize his business because of the poor economy. Brandi and Jerrod constant fought over Jerrod’s tendency to over-bid. And why is Brandi still with that nincompoop? Barry…well, at least the nutty collector was consistently nutty. Tonight, A&E is running back-to-back episodes starting at 10 P.M. Eastern Time. Check the times in your area. If you haven’t seen these storage unit shows, don’t worry, you can jump in watching anytime.

A&E runs hours and hours of STORAGE WAR$ episodes, Randy. If you ever decide to give STORAGE WAR$ a try, just catch one of these marathons.

I like this show (although I suspect much of it is scripted not “reality”) but I always wonder how Barry makes any money since he hardly ever finds anything of value, plus who cleans up after he walks away from the disgorged contents of a locker after he walks away with one small item?

You’re in our thoughts, Deb, with Hurricane Isaac headed your way. Be safe! Yes, I’ve had those thoughts about Barry, too. He’s obviously wealthy (just look at his cars and motorcycles!). Once in a while, Barry mentions his “crew” who will clean up after him. But we’ve never seen them.

Thanks for the good thoughts, George. We drove up to Natchitoches last night (our oldest daughter us in school here and we’re staying at a B & B owned by one if my husband’s old college buddies). My phone keeps me connected to the interwebs and we’ve got The Weather Channel running 24/7 on the TV. Please think good thoughts for the Gulf Coast–this storm may bring up to 20 inches of rain in the next 24 hours and police have already arrested some looters!

I think we’re far enough away from things here in the “Arklatex” area, but what will happen when we drive back home, I shudder to contemplate.

I hope the storm damage to you, your family, and your home is minimal, Deb. But I still have images of what Katrina did seven years ago. Shudder!
