TAMPA BAY Buccaneers VS. BUFFALO BILLS

The 3-2 Buffalo Bills are coming off their Bye Week. The Bills are favored by 3 points over the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston has some shoulder issues so his performance today might be affected. If Winston can’t play, former Buffalo Bill QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will enter the game. Last week, when Winston was hurt, Fitz threw for almost 300 yards! A usual October game would feature wind and cold at New Era Field. But today, the temperature is expected to be in the mid-70s! Ideal football conditions…for August! How will your favorite NFL team fare today?

The 3-2 Saints head to Green Bay to take on the 4-2 Packers. I’m hoping that without Aaron Rogers the Packers may not be too much for the Boys in Black-and-Gold to handle. And now that the teams for the World Series are set, there will be no baseball today to distract me from football.

I lived in the Los Angeles area for 20 years and have seen countless Dodger games and they’re still my team, regardless of living in the south for almost as long as I lived in Southern California. Otoh, I have been rooting for the Astros since we moved here as they’re the closest MLB team to us. My husband was checking the prices for WS tickets in Houston this morning: $750 for SRO, with $250 for parking. Yeah, we ain’t going to a World Series game this year!

Deb, Diane is rooting for the Astros because they’re Bill Crider’s team. I had a friend who came into some money and attended the World Series, the Super Bowl, and the Stanley Cup Finals, and the NBA Championship Finals all in one year!

Go Dodgers! I grew up in SoCal, and was a staunch Dodgers fan until the Angels came to Anaheim, but still rooted the good old Dodger Blue as well. I hope they sweep.

The Cowboys take on the lowly ’49ers and should win, but Dallas isn’t doing so well. Could be an upset. The Texans have a bye week, so they can’t lose.

    Go, Astros!

Bill, Diane is rooting for the Astros. She was so glad they beat the Yankees last night. Diane was mad at the Yankees for beating the Cleveland Indians (her favorite MLB team).

The Giants shocked the Broncos last Sunday, but I doubt they’ll be able to beat the Seahawks at the balmy (77 degrees!) Meadowlands this afternoon.

Let’s be honest here. No matter how you feel about the Yankees, did anyone outside Houston want to see a Dodgers-Astros World Series? Yawn!

You can bet Joe Buck has 1000 NFL promos lined up as Fox executives tear their hair out over the loss of a New York-Los Angeles jackpot series.

Frankly, I couldn’t care less who wins and won’t be watching, but if I had to bet, it would be hard to pick against the Dodgers.

I told Barbara last night that the East Coast people would dump on the Series with Texas-California playing. Apparently location is more important than quality.
I’ll be rooting for the Dodgers, as I said above in reply to Deb.

One more point. The Astros spent 51 YEARS in the National League and five in the American. I am still finding it hard to think of them as an American League team, which makes a Dodgers-Astros World Series seem more like any weekend during the season.

    But maybe that’s just me.

Jeff, I’m with you on team movement. When a team moves conferences, it’s confusing. Remember when the Baltimore Colts used to be an NFC team? Then they moved to the AFC East and now they’re in the AFC South after moving from Baltimore to Indianapolis.

I don’t think my packers can win without Aaron Rodgers, but since it’s the Saints, it wouldn’t be horrible if they do lose.

Am surprised the LA Judases (aka chargers) have actually one a couple. I’d like to see every team win at least one
