John Harris is one of my favorite SF artists. I love his use of color and the surrealism of his futuristic paintings. You probably won’t be surprised by this admission, but I’ve bought books solely because they had a John Harris cover. The Art of John Harris: Beyond the Horizon includes an informative “Forward” by John Scalzi. If you’re a fan of vast landscapes, spooky spaceships, and gigantic future cities John Harris provides plenty of eye-popping examples in this collection. For fans of SF artwork like Rick, Carl, and me this book is a must-buy! GRADE: A
Nice. I love those pictures too.
Gorgeous, George.
Patti, THE ART OF JOHN HARRIS is a beautiful book.
Jeff, I’m a big fan of John Harris’ artwork. This new collection is wonderful!
Very nice!
Bill, THE ART OF JOHN HARRIS is a knock-out!
It truly is a gorgeous book from an outstanding artist. I am so happy that Titan brought this out. I reviewed the regular edition then bought the slip covered limited edition because I reasoned, when am I going to get another art book with his work? Love the images you chose for your post.
Carl, I was tempted by the slip covered limited edition. This Titan edition is terrific!
Very nice post, George, on a beautiful book. I too was tempted by the limited edition, but got the same one you did. As it happens, I’m in the process of buying one of the works that’s in the book. Coincidences do happen. This book will be my “new arrival” for next Monday, but heck, you’ve said it all.
For once we agree. Stunning artwork. I’ve sworn off buying large, coffee table books, but I’m glad the artist got this showcase.
Rick, I would love to own a John Harris painting!
Bob, THE ART OF JOHN HARRIS is a dazzling book. You might want to bend your “coffee table books” rule.
Nope. I have no room and books that have to go away if I don’t want this place to look like a Hoarders episode.
