One of the fun parts of my childhood was watching ROCKY & BULLWINKLE, the zany cartoon show. I have the complete DVD sets, but now there is The Best of Boris and Natasha, Volume 1 which presents an hour’s worth of Cold War spying. After Rocky and Bullwinkle, Boris and Natasha (especially Natasha) were my favorite humorous cartoon characters. This nifty collection only cost $4.99 at BJ’s Warehouse. You can find it online at a similar price. If you want to indulge in nostalgia with plenty of laughs, watch this marvelous DVD. And, check out the trailer below.
Yeah, I always thought Natasha was kind of hot myself.
Bad day for moose and squirrel.
Dan, Natasha had a style most femme fatales lack.
Jeff, moose and squirrel show up plenty in these episodes. Great nostalgia!
I never saw the live action movie with Sally Kellerman.
Jeff, I read the reviews of the live-action Boris and Natasha movie and lost all interest in seeing it.
Big fan of the whole Rocky and Bullwinkle gang.
Beth, I have the complete DVD sets of ROCKY & BULLWINKLE, but it’s fun just to watch the Boris and Natasha episodes.
Rene Russo made a more alluring Natasha, but the film (despite her and Piper Perabo) wan’t much good, either. (Still don’t know why she isn’t Renee.)
Todd, I like Rene Russo but not enough to see BORIS & NATASHA.
I liked these segments, but I think my favorite was the boy and his dog and the way back machine.
Rick, I like the Mr. Peabody and the Way Back Machine, too. I could have done without the kid.
That’s Mr. Peabody and his boy Sherman. Yes, the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show was great stuff.
Bob, I’ve been a fan of the ROCKY & BULLWINKLE shows and have watched the episodes many times. They hold up.
Right-o, Bob, it sure was.
Oh, for what it’s worth, it was Kellerman and Dave Thomas (along with other Second City folks) in BORIS AND NATASHA…Russo was Natasha in the mostly inanimate ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE (only Moose and Squirrel were animated, and no one was scripted well).
The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show was a favorite part of my childhood. I can remember getting up while it was still dark out, turning on the television, and watching the test pattern until cartoons would come on, starting with syndicated episodes of this treasure. I still enjoy it now, only more so because as an adult I get all the language jokes I didn’t as a child. There are lines from these characters that I still quote on a regular basis.
George, the BORIS AND NATASHA movie was better than most reviewers realized. It only waits for Fashion to catch up with it.
