Tonight’s season finale marks the penultimate season for The Closer. Kyra Sedgwick announced Season Seven will be the last season of The Closer. At least we have that to look forward to. I think The Closer is leaving TNT at just the right time. The quality of the series is good, ennui hasn’t set in yet, and the fan base is supportive. The Closer takes risks. The recent two-part Christmas segments dealt with honor killings with roots in Kosovo. You don’t see that featured in holiday segments of any other cop show. Yet the ensemble cast chemistry keeps watchers happy. You can’t ask for any more from a cable TV program. Check your local listings for times in your area.
This has been a solid show every season. An especially strong supporting cast has helped. I will miss it.
I’ll miss THE CLOSER, too, Patti. Great quality control with a great cast.
Good point, George. We definitely were surprised at the Christmas story, though Brenda’s parents were there for the comic relief. I’ll be curious to see what heppens next. Is Pope going to be fired? And who will get his job since she clearly does not want it.
Apparently in tonight’s finale Fritz is going to reveal some dark secrets from his drinking days, according to the blurbs.
The only problem is, a lot of people will be out of work when the show ends, but as you said they seem to be going out on top.
Not too many TV series leave while they are on top, Jeff. But I’m glad THE CLOSER is ending before the inevitable slide into mediocrity.
I may have to take a look at this one when the first season is available on DVD.
THE CLOSER is well worth your time, Rick.
