Deb, you’re right about the music in THE COMMITMENTS! Just fabulous!
One of my favorite movies. The soundtrack is amazing.
Patti, this new Blu-ray version looks great and sounds great!
Big fan of this one when it came out but haven’t seen it since – no idea it had been this long! Total point of trivia – once had a journey on the underground sitting next to the three female member of the band (they briefly starred in a spin off TV series in the UK).
Sergio, I really like the women in this movie! Angeline Ball, Maria Doyle Kennedy, and Natalie Murphy on that train must have been a thrill!
Very cool, Sergio.
We loved it too and have a DVD of it. We have the two soundtrack CDs and, as a matter of fact, just listened to them a few days ago.
“Say it loud, I’m black and I’m proud! “
Jeff, I have the two soundtrack CDs, but the first one is better than the second one.
Absolutely.
Andrew Strong had the most amazing voice of any 16 year old since Steve Winwood.
Of course, Maria Doyle Kennedy played a very tough character in Orphan Black.
Jeff, I’m a season behind in ORPHAN BLACK. Maria Doyle Kennedy played a very mysterious character. Violent, too!
I didn’t see this, and I’m not even sure I’ve heard of it before. What’s it about?
Rick, a bunch of Irish kids form a R&B band. Classic! It’s also a metaphor for Ireland in the 1980s.
A rock and soul band started in Dublin. By a lot of practice they get really good but the very different personalities in the band threaten to pull it apart.
Some great music.
