The Consummata continues the adventures of Morgan the Raider. Morgan is on the run from the Feds after the events chronicled in The Delta Factor. The Consummata is set in the late 1960s so the slang and culture are consistent with the previous book. Morgan takes on a mission by the Cuban community in Miami to track down a vicious traitor who has stolen $75,000 from them. The traitor has a weakness for S&M so Morgan uses that fetish to lead him to a rendezvous with a super-secret dominatrix, The Consummata, at her secluded mansion. The action is unrelenting and there’s a twist at the end. My hat goes off to Max Allen Collins for channeling Spillane’s style so completely. GRADE: B
Her thigh is bigger than her waist! The male idea of the perfect body is a strange one. Maybe she strangles men with her thighs. I wrote that into a story once. A gymnast.
I’ve noticed that several of the HARD CASE covers by McGinnis have anatomical proportion problems, Patti. And the cover of my copy of the book looks dull and washed-out compared to the bright colors in the graphic on my blog.
I think some of her waist line is covered by the cushion. At least I hope so! My first reaction is that is about the least amount of clothing a young lady could wear and still be a lady.
(I may be wrong about that.)
You may be right, Steve. But I’ve found some other problems with the McGinnis HARD CASE covers.
