Season One of Legend of the Seeker held my interest right down to the Season Finale where the Seeker and the evil Darken Rahl had their ultimate confrontation. This sword-and-sorcery series was loosely based on Terry Goodkind’s THE SWORD OF TRUTH novels. I found most of the episodes satisfying. Some were better than others. “Puppeteer” was my favorite episode. Craig Horner played a reluctant hero, Richard Cypher, accompanied by the beautiful Confessor, Kahlan Amnell, played by the fetching Bridget Regan, and wacky wizard, Zeddicus “Zedd” Zu’l Zorander, played by Bruce Spence. Now, Season Two begins and new threats need to be vanquished. This is not “must-see” TV, but if you’re in the mood for a low-rent adventure program with wit and intelligence, check your local listings for broadcast times. You can watch all of Season One’s episodes at the official Legend of the Seeker web site: http://www.dadt.com/lots/.
I’ve never heard of this. Where was it?
You’ll find LEGEND OF THE SEEKER on whatever WB or UPN station is in your area, Patti. Or just go to the LEGEND OF THE SEEKER web site to view Season One episodes.
Technically, there are no WB or UPN stations around anymore. They merged and became the CW.
I picture an enraged Patti Abbott, looking at her TV Guide in frustration, screaming, “Damn you George Kelley! Damn your to hell! There is no WB or UPN.!”
Thanks for the clarification, Drongo. I can’t keep up with these media mergers! CW, it is, Patti.
CW? What the heck is CW? I do know what WB is, though. Oh well. I think I may have seen a promo (blurb? hype? clip?) for this, some guy in the woods saying he DID NOT want the damn sword. This it? For some reason that 30 seconds or so made me think of another program – the name escapes me – featuring a warrior woman, young girl sidekick, battling evil.
I may try the initial episode of this and see what I think. When I have some unattached time. Whenever THAT might be.
You’re right, Rick, LEGEND OF THE SEEKER is made by the same folks that gave us XENA, WARRIOR PRINCESS and HERCULES. It’s escapist fluff, but I enjoy it.
As far as I can tell, only episodes 18-22 are available to watch. I’d want to begin at the beginning. Rats. Does look interesting, though. Hopefully it will come out on DVD and I’ll catch it that way.
SEASON ONE of LEGEND OF THE SEEKER is already on DVD, Rick. You might be able to access episodes 1-17 on HULU.
I can’t believe a guy who never watches TV watches this!
But then again,m if it’s like Xena…
😉
I have a weakness for sword-and-sorcery adventure series, Jeff. I liked Xena, too.
Jeff – if oyu mean me, I don’t watch much TV. Yet my wife does, and it happens occasionally that I’m in the same room. It also happens that I do flip through the channels looking for something, an act which wouldn’t be necessary if the dang cable network would leave the channel numbers alone instead of changing them all the time.
I hate the channel changes, too, Rick.
I meant George, not you, Rick. Besides, you watch what I call “non fiction TV” – National Geographic, House & Garden, and the like.
I’m down to watching TOP CHEF and LEGEND OF THE SEEKER, Jeff. Neither of them are “non-fiction TV” although TOP CHEF comes close.
