THE SKINNY is Jim Gaffigan’s 11th stand-up special. The 60-minute TV special begins with Gaffigan making fun of his losing weight…with the help of Mounjaro. Gaffigan then moves on to his problems with being a parent and the confrontations with teenage angst. My favorite routine was Gaffigan’s story of how he and his family acquired a dog during the Pandemic despite his wife’s allergy to dogs.
Diane loves Jim Gaffigan’s humor. I’m a bit more reserved. I find Gaffigan mildly entertaining. His sardonic wit is okay in small doses. You might enjoy this new comedy special if you have HULU. GRADE: B
He’s hit (mostly) or miss (occasionally) for me. I’ll probably watch this at some point, but I can’t say it’s at the top of the queue.
Deb, while Diane finds Gaffigan funny, I only find him occasionally amusing.
Like Gaffigan a lot – though his last special was not very – but no Hulu. I recommend his book, DAD IS FAT. I liked his Tim Walz on SNL.
Jeff, Diane has Gaffigan’s book on her Read Real Soon stack.
Patti, Gaffigan was a guest on recent SETH MEYERS and confessed he loved doing Waltz on SNL.
He is inoffensive and sometime funny. I guess his Waltz days are over.
I’ve mostly found him offputting!
Walz, folks. He’s not dead yet, and given that the reactionary ticket won by something close to 1.7% of the popular vote, his national career might not be over, either.
I’m generally fond of Gaffigan’s standup, as well.
