Patti Abbott was right about the TOP CHEF judges banishing Jennifer last week. So tonight we’re down to Kevin (my favorite), Bryan, and Michael. Expect the usual TOP CHEF trickery as the judges throw some curves at these finalists in an attempt to get them off their game. I would be fine with Bryan winning if Kevin somehow messes up, but the thought of arrogant Michael winning gives me the shivers. This Sixth Season of TOP CHEF was one of the best. Plenty of great cooking and competitive challenges. I can’t wait for Season Seven! My prediction is that we’ll hear Padma say, “Kevin, you are TOP CHEF!”
Since I am a novice at how this plays out I am falsely assuming Kevin will win. It almost seems like the judges can come up with whoever they want based on last week when Michael was heavily criticized and then Jennifer was bounced.
I wonder if taste gets trumped by looks-both food looks and chef looks.
Any little mistake can be fatal at this point of TOP CHEF, Patti. Although Kevin is the favorite, an error can change everything. And, you’re right, anyone can win depending on what the judges decide.
It’s just a popularity contest, like all these shows (Biggest Loser last night, anyone?). But they do hook us in when we start cheering for a favorite or two. Since these are filmed ahead, I’ll bet teh winners are already on the ‘net someplace.
The winner of TOP CHEF probably isn’t a secret, Rick, but I don’t want to know. I admit to getting caught up in the competition and the suspense. I’m not a big Reality TV fan, but TOP CHEF has me on the edge of my seat!
Apparently the winner is named in the new issue of People magazine, on the stands now (the issue with Tiger on the cover). I don’t know who it is, and wouldn’t spoil it for you if I did, but I thought you’d be interested.
I’ll check out PEOPLE after tonight’s TOP CHEF, Rick. Thanks for the heads up!
If you watch this dreck you just encourage them to make more of these insipid reality shows.
I can’t help it, Bob, I’m addicted to TOP CHEF!
That Cap’n Bob, always such a kidder!
Looks like your worst night mare came true, George.
The same thing happened last season, Jeff. My favorite, Carla, botched a dish and that finished her. This year, Kevin decides to make bacon a dessert! I knew he was doomed from that moment on!
Not that there’s anything wrong with bacon, George. But I do agree with you on the dessert thing.
There was a comment posted last night on textsfromlastnight.com about Padma, by the way.
Seems these two guys find her even more desirable since she’s pregnant.
😉
Padma is hot, hot, hot, Jeff. Without her TOP CHEF would be dull.
I gather the result wasn’t to your liking, George. Sorry. Maybe next season will work out better for you. Now that AMAZING RACE is over, we don’t have any reality TV to watch. We’ll be making more progress through the Netflix queue.
As you pointed out in a previous comment, Rick, the judges can be very subjective. They picked Michael because of his “innovative” cooking. My mistake is that I would rather eat Kevin’s food instead of Bryan’s food or Michael’s food. Kevin’s simple but tasty cuisine matches the kind of food I like to eat.
