I haven’t seen SAFE, but I’ll look for it now, Deb. McKay Jenkins marshalls plenty of data showing how our environment is making us sick.

SAFE is excellent but it is unclear whether it is insanity or allergies that drive her.
This sort of thing makes me crazy because it’s the industries that need to make changes. It is nearly impossible for us to avoid these things-and sometimes the cure they come up with is worse than the original problem. I am thinking of all the years I took fosomax for bones and now they say it makes things worse in many cases.

I’m reading a book now entitled Killer Colas. It’s eye-opening and I don’t doubt the truth of it but I’m not prepared to give up my Diet Coke addiction just yet.
I can heartily endorse the Tom’s of Maine products, though.

I’m going to investigate Tom’s of Maine, Beth. McKay Jenkins’ book shows that it’s the long-term exposure to toxic chemicals (some in colas) that gets us in the end.

Yes, it amazing that anyone is still alive in Asia and Africa, South America or India. It’s still more amazing the human race has survived, since everything we see, touch and taste is toxic. If I stay in a filtered air bubble and only drink quadruple-filtered spring water, I MIGHT live another few weeks. And oh, the fine quality of life I’ll have in those precious hours.

You better give up pizza, George, and anything else you like, unless you like extra-organically grown celery.

It’s all about balance, Rick. We can choose foods with lower rates of toxicity. We can choose not to use toxic carpet cleaning solutions. We can lower our exposure and try to keep our personal environment as safe as can be.

We have a place called THE GREENER CLEANER which used non-toxic cleaners to clean your carpets and upholstery. I bet you do too.

You’re right, Patti. We go with non-toxic cleaners for our carpets and upholstery. Those old toxic chemicals cleaners used used to be vile.
