Yes, you can probably find this information in books five or six times the size of Worth It…Not Worth It? But it would be a rare finance book that would lay out the information this neatly. Okay, so what is the answer for hybrid vs. gas powered, assuming the gas car gets within 20% of the hybrids mileage?
Jack Otter says the hybrid isn’t worth it, Rick. Stick with a gas-powered car that you keep tuned up.
That’s exactly the conclusion of car magazines Road & Track and Car and Driver, so I’m not at all surprised. Plus it’s still mostly unknown what the long term impact of those used up batteries will be.
Eventually hybrids and electric cars will be perfected, Rick. But they’re a long way from that goal right now.
