Who doesn’t love a good time travel story? X-Men: Days of Future Past blends the “old” X-Men series (with Patrick Stewart as Professor X) with the “new” X-Men series (James McAvoy as the young Professor X). Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is sent back to 1973 in a last ditch attempt to change Time from a destructive future for humans and mutants. The real star of X-Men: Days of Future Past is the incandescent Jennifer Lawrence as the shape-chaning Mystique. She even looks beautiful in blue. This blending of the two X-Men franchises works well. I enjoyed the retro Seventies look. If you’re looking for action, adventure, and intelligent storytelling X-Men: Days of Future Past will delight you. GRADE: A
I hadn’t planned to see this, but maybe I will, after all.
Bill, time-travel and 3D. How could you resist!
George, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the latest X-Men flick with the return of almost the entire cast including Jean Grey (Famke Janssen). However, the one character I don’t see in the credits is Cyclops (James Marsden). I might still catch it in the theatres.
Prashant, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see which X-Men are affected by the time change.
Can’t talk Phil into it.
Patti, tell Phil that Nixon plays a crucial role in the movie.
In general I have little interest in X-Men but Bill is right, you make this one sound interesting.
Jeff, I enjoyed the blend of the old and new X-Men. And, of course, I’m a fan of time travel movies.
To be more accurate his mind is sent into the past. Great movie. Good 3D.
Stan, you’re right. But it sure looked like the present day Wolverine in 1973!
