Congratulations! Based on the wide variety of subjects you discuss here, your encyclopedic knowledge of books and writers, and your obvious enjoyment of what you do, I’m sure your students get much more from you than just what’s in the class syllabus.
This just proves how successful you are in helping your students make the right choices. They obviously made the right one here. Congratulations again.
You must be running out of wall space, what with all the awards you receive! The timing on this is great, something to carry you through the end of the year and into summer.
Rick, you’re right about the Good Feeling extending into the Summer. But I really can’t wait to read for pleasure again! I’m almost done with all the correcting and grading!
A very spiffy looking award, certainly deserved, and no surprise to me. Visiting with you over the years I can recall several instances where, at a restaurant or store, we ran into one of your ex-students, and their admiration and gratitude for your interest and help as their teacher were obvious (as was your continuing concern with how they were doing). A regular Mr Chipping, you are!
Art, actually I’m a “chip” off my father’s block. He passed on the teaching gene to me (and my sisters and brother–all of whom have teaching experiences). Your kind words mean a lot to me.
Excellent!
Todd, thanks!
Congratulations and good luck to you, George!
Prashant, the students were very generous in choosing me their Teacher of the Year.

Deb, my classes are a lot like this blog! Thank you for your kind words!
Congrats again on a well-deserved award!
Bill, this is the nicest TEACHER OF THE YEAR Award plaque yet!

Jeff, the students can be brutally honest in their evaluation of their professors. After 35 years of teaching, I finally think I know what I’m doing.
What a wonderful acknowledgement of your gifts.
Patti, awards coming from the students mean a lot to me.
Very impressive, George!
Be sure to give it some wall space. It’s one worth displaying.
Beth, this award will go up on my Wall of Fame.
You and Crider are my favorite teachers too! Well done.
Rick, Bill and I both know the secret to being a good professor: love your job!
Great news, and many congrats, George!
BV, I appreciate your kind words. Teaching is a calling for some of us and that makes it hard to leave.

Yep, what they all said.
(You realize, of course, folks, there’ll be no living with him now.)
Bob, my head is swelling by the moment!
Congratulations, Dr. Kelley! The award is certainly well deserved!
Lauren, you’ve been on the receiving end of my instruction. I’ve been fortunate to have such good students like you in my classes!
